  1. I guess that’s the nature of the beast. It will all work out at the end. I installed a set of tow hooks on my truck, which proved to be a little challenge, due the need for relocation brackets that I had to fabricate with basic tolls , no milling machine or even a decent bench vise. But it’s done and it looks stock on a plastic bumper.
  2. Ok , I pulled the purging trigger once again and drop these babies off at the local hobby store. Both are new , but ginormous and the free space is the priority right now.
  3. Last weekend my dear friend William @williamj came over to visit and forced me to have this. Thank you !🙏
  4. In the meanwhile I slapped this together. No fuss just a sloppy quickie.
  5. I tried lacquer thinner. I've had it all cleaned up and ordered a new set of decals. Wanted to build Franz Stiegler's mount, but not this time. Instead it is going to be this bad boy.
  6. Really like how you distorted the netting on the intakes. Nice touch indeed.
  7. It always feels good when you can get some cash back, to spend it almost immediately on more kits
  8. No it wouldn't. I tried, Tamiya softener doesn't even touch it, I went as far as using Solvaset and Tamiya extra thin glue to melt it in. And noppity nope.
  9. The resin comes with a small UV light to cure it. Takes seconds of illumination and you can sand it. I approached it in the fast way. First, removal of the plastic lenses, then coloring the cut area with markers (sharpies) green/red, the application of resin blob, then sanding. Ten minutes tops.
  10. Kits World Decals. Or whatever is left of them. Not buying that brand again.
  11. Looking good from here too. Cheers Martin
  12. What a great idea, following with interest. Cheers Martin
  13. Thank guys, I haven't but 1/48 scale for ages. It seems so small ,on the hind side it goes together fast.
  14. As an afterthought I had to cut out the back wall in the wheel wells. slowly shaping the intakes, please ignore the paint. It’s just a temporary solution in order to get a better perception of shape.
  15. Thank you for the preview Fran, ICM's 88s are absolutely stunning.
  16. What do you mean, relaxing? Color the mug or something.
  17. Ok. Now I have to let it dry. 😝 some work on the resin wheels, now that I’m looking at them, I reckon the real value of the resin set is the tail wheel. Kit’s mains are actually really nice.
  18. I’m impressed how strong and fast is Tamiya quick setting glue. here is some work on the tail. Shortened by 2 mm, top leading edge needs some steeper angle. The original was heavily inspired by the B-29. The bottom needed some reshaping and thinning too. Not sure if worth it?, we shall see.
  19. The nose has a whole bunch of issues, think egg-plane which the model is not I’m not going to recreate the teardrop shape , since I care about my sanity and would like to finish at some point, however some preliminary shaping to catch the glimpse of that funny look is necessary.
  20. I also cut out the thick dipole of Funklande Gerät FuBi 2 , thinned the posts in order to install a new ones made of a thinner filaments.
