This is good news! Gary Kerr worked very hard to get paint mixes with the well known Model Master line of paint. I was wondering what I'd do now that MM is out of production.

Looking good! And I can sympathize on doing any sharkmouth decals. I have told myself if I ever do another sharkmouth that I'll be better off painting/masking than trying to get a decal on. Good luck and enjoy and well-earned Scotch.

Following along. I have a couple of these Tamiya motorcycle kits too. I've been wanting to take the plunge.

I tried MM acryl late in the game...before they quit making it. I found that cutting it 50/50 with Future gave very good results. Also after about two days of curing time it was so hard I could not even scratch with my fingernail...probably due to the Future.

Even though that GSB gave you masking trouble, it sure is smooth. What is your brand on that?

I'm always game for another Warhawk from JohnB. BTW, I need a resin K tail for a project I'm planning to do one day. I thought I would do it myself with scrap plastic and putty...but who am I kidding? This resin tail will just save time and hassle.

You did it right. Years ago, I went to Middlesboro, Kentucky, to see the P-38 that was pulled out of the glacier...."Glacier Girl". I saw the original US ARMY on the wing. It looked like a very very dark blue to my eye.

It does look better with a thicker prop, that's for sure. Hasegawa never corrected that narrow prop and it really looks wrong on the later marks...like the N.

Your prop mods look very nice. Those early war E models did come with a narrow chord prop. So if you wanted to stay with the original and save your resin ones for another warhawk...you could.

I read Morehead's book some years ago. It was good! He did think the P-40 was a dog, though.
