Try to find someone who works in an operating room at a hospital. They throw away dozens of sterile surgical towels (unused) after almost every surgery. They’re super absorbent and are designed to have no loose fibers at all. Most of the time they’re happy to let someone take them home if they’re not contaminated.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I don’t ever start actually drawing decals until I’ve done a LOT of research. I’ve had to re-draw far too much and learned my lesson. So unless the reviewer of a decal has done a LOT of research, they likely simply have no clue how accurate or inaccurate they are. The exact same thing can be said of the kit itself. The recent hubbub over the Meng 1/48 F-4 kits is a prime example: yes, it looks like a wonderful kit - unless you know very much about the F-4. Then it’s a half-hearted “C+” at best.

Before you get too far on the wing folds - they were considered and external surface and were camouflaged in the local camo color.
