Paulster Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Back a couple of years ago, TVMC's co-founder Mike Witous had a funny idea. He had a Trumpeter 1/16 T-34 that he knew he wasn't going to build. So…..he seperated the parts by steps in the instruction book. Made a copy of the instructions for each bag and brought them to club meeting. There Mike announced that each member present would get a bag and an instruction book. We had pre determined that I would get the tracks. Each member, regardless of the building genre would have 60 days to complete their step, then turn them in to us. We had car builders constructing T-34 engines, Sci-Fi guys doing the turrets and figure freaks doing ammo racks. Then we gave all the steps to Col. John Lewis (USMC) for corrections and final assemble. Mike constructed the diorama base. Mike also purchased a 1/16 figure. He gave that to Dutch Gorsha for construction and painting. Dutch is one of those young and gifted builders. All he has to do is read an article on the subject, then do it. This is his first figure, ever. It was a ton of fun and made for some interesting conversations. Here are the pictures from that build. Look at some of the expressions when they hear whats going on.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 2, 2013 Administrators Posted December 2, 2013 I'm in! Yesterday I found the extensive Part PE set containing... well... a lot! I'm half way through my build.
Paulster Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Were they not the easiest tracks you have ever constructed?
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted December 2, 2013 Administrators Posted December 2, 2013 Were they not the easiest tracks you have ever constructed? They are! Even easier than the old Tamiya ones' you needed to staple to really hold together
