Looking so good and take your time, it's delicate work. Shoot for finishing the Corsair up Sunday. 😉

Trying to go slow and easy. Working on attaching the flaps (moderate cuss-factor!).

Just posted in the finished forum. Awesome build - so different and so realistic. Great idea and you pulled it off perfectly. 🏆

Thank you Peter! :)

Very well done. Olathe is only a few minutes from my home. Always liked this scheme.

Many thanks Steve. :)

I've had one of the -1D and -4 Trumpeter kits since they were released. I've only gotten to building the -4 now and I understand your comments about the wing fold mechanism. 😖ARRRRRGGGGHHH! More work to do. I was probably going to glue them in the open position, but I guess I don't have something installed right because the wing pieces don't meet up when the wings are open. So, surgery has been done and they will most definitely be glued in the open position.

Both kits have some problems unfortunately, especially the -1D. No comparison to the Tamiya kit. I built one ages ago and replaced darn near everything from my spares stash and after market stuff. The -4 is better but still has some problems as you know. Here's a couple of photos of the -1D I built back in 2010 :) Aires cockpit and wheel wells plus other after market stuff. No way was I going to try to fold the wings! LOL

Thanks, that looks nice. I figured that the -1D wasn't any better. I used a Quinta set in the cockpit as well as a couple of Eduard PE sets that I had bought way back. I do have a Tamiya -1 birdcage in the closet. I'm sure that will be better.
