Martinnfb
To my best knowledge the cockpit was unfinished and there’s only one available drawing of the proposed panel. 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted September 16, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted September 16, 2023 Roughly putting everything together in 1:1 scale. The wings were me262 wings. I might source some from a Revell or Trumpie kit. The main wheels were Me109K wheels. Might source them too.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted September 16, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted September 16, 2023 So much measuring to do. At the moment trying to find out what kind of nose wheels was used.
logan181
I would say try the tail wheel of a bf 110. I'm fairly certain the engineers had access to these parts, just like the 109 main wheels. Makes perfect sense in a logistical way.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted September 17, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted September 17, 2023 I'm really picking the model apart in order to make it printable and workable for my limited 3D skills. The nose is now a separate section with a hole for the pit, nose wheel and air intake. The rear fuselage is now hollow to accommodate the fuel tanks and wing sweep mechanism. 8
CANicoll
Amazing work! I'm just along for the ride, which is already fascinating. Thanks for documenting and sharing. Chris

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted September 29, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted September 29, 2023 Started work on the main gear. Pretty complicated construction. The lower parts of the legs are Bf109K, but everything else is unique and looks unnecessary complicated. 5

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 5, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted October 5, 2023 Recieved this book today. Mainly photos of models, but a few new insights as well. Like this oen drawing of the supposed cockpit. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 6, 2023 Author Administrators Share Posted October 6, 2023 Managed to get the legs sort of right. Fitted them to the rest of the model and now I understand how they struggled to fit everything in the fuselage. The legs will need serious tweaking to fit around the engine. 4
Johnie Hopper
Could the interior picture be mirrored in the book? Because it'would be almost identical to Me-262 cockpit arrangement, and it looks logical assuming that pilots would come with Me-262 experiences. Edited October 9, 2023 by Johnie Hopper At second glance, above inserted cockpit picture is definitely mirrored picture of Me-262 (including the shape of canopy behind pilot) 2
