Peterpools Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Ralph Nice progress. Catching up and enjoying following your progress. 1
RalphSarc Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Finished the track boogie assembly along with adding several parts to the chassis. 7
RalphSarc Posted April 7 Author Posted April 7 Chassis assembly completed. Lots of fiddly parts but again the fit was perfect making it a joy to assemble. 4

It’s almost as good as a new tooling!!! If I get a chance I’ll prune and paint the chassis then I can begin weathering it before starting the truck body. 4
BlrwestSiR Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Ralph, that's great progress that you've made. Nice to hear that the fit is still good all these years later. 2
CANicoll Posted April 8 Posted April 8 Nice work! Question - the yellow highlighting on the instructions. Is that something you do? 2

RalphSarc Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 This morning I returned to step 6 and installed the exhaust pipes and muffler on the chassis. A little rust effects and some heat blueing and it’ll look the part! 5
RalphSarc Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Sometimes I think kit manufacturers build “torture” into there kits just for the fun of it?? 1 2
RalphSarc Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Another fiddly affair!! Cutting, folding and aligning the hinges so the door halves appear to be open!! As seen in step 17. 4
RalphSarc Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Assemble the rear body bulkhead in step 12. Not sure I’ll fold the panel as shown or not!! 4
RalphSarc Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 Completed step 14 building up the front body section of the M16. I’m really impressed with the fit of this old kit. I’ve had no issues what so ever! 5
RalphSarc Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 Installed and masked the windshield plus attached the front cab to the chassis. Also sprayed a coat of XF-51 (Khaki Drab). 5
BlrwestSiR Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Admiring your build, I pulled out the Dragon kit of the M16 I have in the stash and look in the box. When I picked it up, it came as a bundle from Dragon USA with the Griffon PE set. Which basically replaces half the body with PE along with the entire engine hood. Which leads me to put it back on the shelf and I'll just keep following along with your build. 2

I’ll most likely build the other two at some point. The quad has been a great kit. Highly recommend it. 2
