ScottsGT Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 I did some googling and one of the biggest differences I could find was the Air Force was using Navy style pylons. https://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/2/t/133928.aspx 2 1
ScottsGT Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 Mark, I’m not sure which pylons the the Tamiya C/D kit comes with, but if you need a set from a J let me know. I just finished the Blue Angels bird and didn’t use them. 1
scott_t Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 The inboard Navy-style pylons from ResKit are beautiful. 1

Lusitanian Posted March 3 Posted March 3 There’s no such thing as “early” and “late” F-4Cs. Like all aircraft, the F-4C underwent progressive upgrades through its production run. And changes were retrofitted to in-service aircraft. What you need to know is, what’s the tail number, and what’s the time period you’re wanting to model it? And you need photographs of the airplane at or near that time to verify things. I’ve done a LOT of research on F-4Cs, so if you have specific questions, fire away and I’ll try to get you a solid answer. 1
