RalphSarc Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Well I’ve built a lot of kits in my scale modeling career however I have to say this without a doubt is the absolute worst I’ve ever built. Okay I admit I’m use to building Tamiya and Takom kits. Revell will never compare with their engineering standards……but come on!!!! Since I’m limited in space to building 1/48 aircraft all future builds will be Tamiya kits!!! This is junk but I will persevere!!! 4
RalphSarc Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 Since this is 1/48 scale I saw no sense in adding all the PE cockpit detail. I’ll use my acrylic markers to highlight switches etc that will be seen. Glad I have all my super cool clamps!! 2
Martinnfb Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Nice start on this oldie. Will follow with interest. Cheers Martin 1

RalphSarc Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 Finished gluing the two fuselage halves with minimal filling applied and also completed step 6 assembling and installing the forward cannons and what I believe is the underbelly shell casing exiting slot panels. 3
RalphSarc Posted Wednesday at 12:09 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 12:09 PM Haven’t used homemade sprue glue to fill a gap in a long while. The joys of scale aircraft building. 3 1
RalphSarc Posted Wednesday at 11:09 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:09 PM Haven’t built up an aircraft kit in a long while so these are the results for the finished kit I’m looking for. Fingers crossed!🤞 3
Landlubber Mike Posted Thursday at 01:40 AM Posted Thursday at 01:40 AM Martin started a Pro Modeler/Revell Me 410 buddy build about a month ago - Kevin and I are hoping to join in soon: 2

There’s safety in numbers, lol!!! I look forward to following the other builds. Always looking for new ideas and techniques. 1
RalphSarc Posted Thursday at 12:13 PM Author Posted Thursday at 12:13 PM Also did some additional seam sanding along the forward fuselage and cockpit area. 3
Martinnfb Posted Thursday at 05:16 PM Posted Thursday at 05:16 PM Looking good Ralph. cheers Martin 1
RalphSarc Posted yesterday at 02:32 PM Author Posted yesterday at 02:32 PM Continuing on with the Me420B this morning.completed steps 7/8 assembling cockpit frame and side cannons. 2

I’m so spoiled building Tamiya kits that building a Revell kit especially this old Monogram offering is very challenging. The newer Revell/Germany kits a much better to build. 2
RalphSarc Posted yesterday at 03:49 PM Author Posted yesterday at 03:49 PM Busting right along on the Me210 this morning. Completed steps 9/10 assembling and installing the tail wheel and tail wheel doors plus assembled both post and starboard wings. How to install the flaps in step 10 is very vague requiring a bit of head scratching!! 2
RalphSarc Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM On to step 11/12!!! After this brief commercial, lol!!!! 3
KevinM Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Ralph I built up the Meng 410 awhile back I swear you think they almost came from the same molds with added features. 2

Oh probably so!!! The instructions in the kit are truly vague plus the spruces are not labels A,B,C etc adding to the frustration of finding parts. The fit has been pretty good but hardly stellar like a Tamiya kit. I think it’ll finish well once all the flaws are covered with paint, lol!!! 1
RalphSarc Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Completed steps 11/12 assembling the port and starboard wing flaps, engine nacelles with exhaust manifolds plus joined those assembles to the wings. Finally I attached the wings to the fuselage, which was a bit fiddly, and the horizontal stabilizers! It’s actually looking like a wingy thingy, lol!!!
