Hello everyone, I have been building the new Revell Spitfire - not really a Spitfire fan myself - in fact I dont think I have built one since childhood but anyway....

I was not happy with the heavy rivet detail on the fuselage so I have tried to improve this and add the raised rivet detail. The instrument panel has been reversed so I added a pilot to distract attention. Almost ready to open the paint if I can get the armoured windscreen to fit. On the plus side the surface detail on the wings is really nice and they fit perfectly to the fuselage.

regards David

Inspirational work on the pilot figure, doubt anyone will notice the wonky instrument panel now.

Unless Tamiya steps up to the plate, this is looking like our best option for a large-scale, BoB era Spit to go with all of the 109 Es out there. Looking forward to your final assessment of this kit, not to mention the build article itself.

I'll reserve judgement until it's production ready, hopefully they'll be able to correct the silly errors. The outline looks great tho and no doubt it'll build nicely.

Pilot figure is stunning! Who's it by?

Sorry to resurrect such an old post but I just have to know...

Where did you get that brilliant pilot figure from? I'm very much interested in one for my build of this kit!

Dave, thanks for the info! Gorgeous figures but a wee bit pricey, especially with shipping added! Going to have to think about this one a while.
