HORTEN HO-229 - 1/32 by Zoukei Mura & HGW

Recommended Posts

Hello,

it is done.... the HORTEN HO-229 - 1/32 by Zoukei Mura is finished...!

I have used the resin-wheels, the metal landing gear and the turned brass gun barrels & pitot by Zoukei Mura. The fabric seat belts are made by HGW.

There was no real plane in commission so that the camouflage colors are totally up to you. I decided for a dark grey/grey-green version with a red stripe and a Hakenkreuz inside.

The wings are still removable (therefore the small gap on the topside), the wings are mounted only with four clips (two on upper- two on lower side).

The painting was made with colors by Lifecolor, oil colors, pigments and Valleyo clear coats (matt & glossy).

... and here we go ...

I hope that you like it. The kit was a pleasure to build, made lot of fun. It is highly recommended!

Cheers. Michael

Thanks for posting

The grey/green contrast works well for this aircraft.

I'm just getting ready to tackle the wing-to-center-section joints now. Its the one part of this kit which concerns me (made more challenging by the clear wing & body parts which render accurate joins even more challenging). I'm planning to airbrush the parts on the sprues prior to working with them, try to position them as accurately as possible and then tackle whatever gap remains with Mr Surfacer 500. I'd like to try and avoid sanding/re-scribing if possible (?) Watching how others handle this kit with interest...
