Mish
Well good progress today the Dark Earth sprayed I'm trying out AK Interactive paints on this build. Then I laid down the masks. This is the first time I have ever used masks and these a re a prototype set from Topnotch Models for the Revell Mk II. So took a bit of working out how they all fit. The developer was kind enough to talk me through the start of the possess using Skype. Dark green goes on tomorrow.

Administrators James H Posted December 13, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2015 Looking good! Perhaps my favourite part of a project (next to first opening box). This will look sweet with decals on.
Mish
I always put off painting camo, unless I'm free-handing it. But these masks have worked great. Going to spray the walkway lines like you did on yours Jim.
Mish
Thanks Guys, today's progress. She's got her legs and the decals are going on. The decals are Eagle Cal and are very thick, requiring Mr Mark Softener to get them to settle. More tomorrow

Wingco57
Nice to see those oversized roundels. The Air Ministry added the 2 inch yellow border for uniformity. The squadrons though otherwise.Cees
Mish
I think they're a pain as well Cees
Mish
Today's progress, more decals. Just the underside roundels to do along with all the little stencils, then I can move onto weathering. More tomorrow.
Wingco57
Never seen a Mk IIa spit with yellow spinner before. Something you learn every day. Oh eh Mish, the Mk II spit had a small blister fairing just behind the spinner on the starboard side. This covered the Coffman starter. Mish
Hi Cees, Don't get confuse by the title of the thread It's the Mk.IIa kit but I'm backdating it to a Mk.Ia Sorry my fault as I was going to build it as a Mk.IIa originally. MikeMaben
Looking quite nice. They may be a pain but I like the big roundels as well. No mistaking it for anything but British.
