GazzaS
I need to make a 1/48 parachute. It doesn't have to be too perfect as it'll be sitting on a tailplane. I can use milliput for the body of the parachute. What would you use for the strapping? TIA Gaz
AlanG
A really cheap thin masking tape? Or do you have any of the HGW seatbelt surrounding material (the leftover material the seatbelts are attached to).

I do have some HGW belts... alas I threw away the excess from a previous packet only a few weeks ago.
cramsey
Hair roller paper (thick paper tissue) is a good material for creating thin tarps and other such materials. I use it for the aforementioned but can also be used for your use. I use diluted white-glue and Vallejo paint.
krow113
Ive used paper strips for strapping. When seeking an answer to some of these modelling questions ,it can help to go back to the beginning. Many techniques and procedures were sorted by guys who never had the resources we have today. The rush to A/M can be problematic.
