  1. I've been searching but have found little. Just found the Brit modeller write up thanks to you! Thanks!
  2. I want to make some custom photo etched parts which require me to do the artwork, but for some reason I can't get past the artwork part. I'm guessing the answer is obvious to one of you, but for me I just don't see it. Is the following set of steps the best way to go about it, or am I missing something?: -research the part I want and figure out the size and final dimensions I need it to be -make some vector drawings on my computer scaled up from its final size so its easier to work with using a 2D drawing program -scale down my drawings to final size and print off a test to confirm the size and dimensions are correct -make any adjustment as needed -print off the artwork and photo etch Is this about right, or am I missing something?
  3. Thanks Ralph. I'll keep my eyes peeled for one.
  4. Hi there. I'm hoping to start on my big 32nd. scale HK Do 335 and was wondering what good references I should get for it? I do have the monarch book (on order) plus the older schiffer book and Merrick's cockpit book which all cover this aircraft, but are there any other references with good pictures anyone can think of? Thanks, Chuck.
  5. Wow! They seem to be setting the standard for 3D printed figures. Is there any kind of layering visible like you would normally find from the 3D printing process?
  6. Looks great! Not sure if I missed it somewhere, but would you mind sharing what software you used for the 3D printing?
  7. Just seeing this now. Beautiful wood grain on the LVG! Can you tell us your method?
  8. Amazing if it's legit. Who said dreams don't come true!
  9. The Felixstowe would be at the top of my list, but seeing that it might be coming, here are my next top three: Siemens-Schuckert D.III Albatros W.4 Junker D.1
  10. I ended up discovering the Xuron does a good job of this. Thanks for confirming it, Chuck.
  11. AHHHH, I think that's it! Rolling it forward seems to make a WORLD of difference. THANK YOU! Now I need to try and get the consitent (1.5mm) length figured out. Thanks again, Chuck.
  12. I am trying to cut brass tube and it doesn't seem to want to roll under my blade. Am I pressing down too much with the blade if the tube doesn't want to roll?
  13. I dont know what it is when it comes to me and cutting, but for the life of me I can't seem to score .5mm tube evenly all around. The result is when I go to snap it, I get an uneven break! :'( Any hints or tips on how to do this properly? Do you just let the new blade of a knife rest against the tube, or do you need to apply some pressure? It doesn't seem to want to roll in the jig I am using when I try and score it all around. My goal is to be able to cut it 1.5mm long, but I cant even cut it 15mm straight! HELP!
  14. I want to cut some soft copper wire that is .3mm in diameter (pretty thin). Normally I would just use a wire cutter to cut it, but the problem with the wire cutter is it leaves the end all crimped and smooshed! Does anyone out there have a good method for cutting wire this thin that leaves the end relatively square and not sqaushed? Thanks in advance, chuckT.
  15. Using a Mac thanks. I did that very thing (SHIFT, CMD and key 4) and it works well!
  16. Fantastic! Do you have any hints on how you drill through the side of the plastic rod while keeping the hole centered? I seem to have a tough time doing this without the drill leaning off to one side and ruining the plastic rod.
  17. Thanks for the feedback. I realised after I made the post that I could use some kind of screen capture ability to save the photos for reference. I don't wat to try and reprint them or anything like that, but it is nice to be able to have them in one folder to make it easier when the time to build comes, thats all. Thanks again.
  18. Are we allowed to save photos (on our computer) from WNW's website to use in our builds of thier kits? Is it even possible to save thier pictures? I like to save photos on my desktop to use for researching my builds (which WNW has many excellent examples of) but I can't seem to be able to save them, thus my questions. Has anyone out there done this succesfully?
