Beautiful Cees!
Do your printed tailpipes fit ok? I think they work for the Revell kit maybe, but they are too small for Tamiya. The outlet dia should be 30mm but the base is 30, making the outlet too small.
I wonder if I can get one scaled up a wee bit or borrow the STL file for my mate to print a larger one??
@Jeroenveen1 was it you that did the file?
EDIT, sorry @JeroenPeters it was....sorry
Anyway, great work all round chaps. Cees, I have a feeling I might want to do a cammo one when I see yours finished!!
Cheers Anthony

Mine arrived Thursday and I am super happy with them. Only problem it seems they are a bit small to fit on my Tamiya kit.....oh no

Nope, it's Ocean Grey that serves as an undercoat. The EDSG will go on top of that. But will concentrate on the underside first.
Aaah ok, well hurry up then...
Just discovered that those 2 access panels on the RWR fintip are only on the left side...after I just put them on the right hand side! Ugh.... dont make my mistake. I have filled them with CA now LOL

Well mate, it's hard to see any irregularities from my screen! Looks splendid!
I really like how you did those Aux doors on the flanks of the engine sides, they really came up well. Considering the surgery involves, I am totally impressed at the results you have achieved. Thanks for the inspiration for me to keep plugging away on mine!!

Super impressive Cees, I like your approach to problem solving, you are the master at that!
She really has now lost the 'US' look, she is every inch a Brit one now! Love this build and inspires me too...keep it up buddy!

Nicely done Cees, such a neat splice of the 2 kits. You are really making great visual progress now.

I would say an early FGR.2 means you could get away with it, seems like they slowly filtered through the program. Who's to say whether it did or didnt have it at the time you chose to model her.
Great work Cees, thats some tricky surgery, and I am like you planning using the kit inner engine parts for depth as well, they actually look practically the same as the Spey waaay back in there
Good show! This is exactly where I am working at the moment too... Just what I needed

Cees, I have been researching XV571, the Airframe I am doing, and it seems (I could be wrong of course) that 43 Sqn (black and white checks) only ever operated FG.1's not FGR.2's
Maybe someone can confirm?

I have very little info on this Anthony.
Did the FGR-2 have these?
Not an easy question to answer. Yes they all seem to have ended up with them in the end. This should answer all your questions

Wow, I am so jealous you have made it this far, when I am still floundering!
Great and inspiring work buddy, absolutely love it! Are you going to put the doubler/strengthening plates along the lower spar section?
