  1. Did you know…. That airbrushing in a hotel room is considered rude?
  2. Yep, another GWH Traumahawk build. I'm using Barracuda wheels and a few other Barracuda goodies, 3D printed seatbelts, and Eagle Editions decals. This started as a hotel room build while I was marooned in Lewisville due to an ice storm making the roads impassable, and we'll get as much done while I'm still here. My goal is to do a relatively painless build here, while carefully going slow and looking for the various pitfalls people have found regarding the wing/engine cowl/gun cover/fuselage join. Hopefully if I find a problem, I can document it ahead of time to help others avoid the same pitfalls that snuck up on Peter and others.
  3. So far, this has had Tamiya like fit, but from Peter's and previous builds, I know that there are plenty of areas around the firewall that can bite a guy, so I'm going very slow, very easy, and triple fitting everything before daring to commit to glue.
  4. If I recall my history correctly, those things folded up life a tent when hit with a good burst of .50
  5. Don’t make my head expand, man. A combination of brush and decals.
  6. I just couldn’t bring myself to bring a big dollar resin kit on the road. What absolutely sucks is that I need red paint for the levers, and I ain’t got me none, dangit!
  7. Yep, I’ve taken over the built in desk at the Holiday Inn Express in Lewisville, Tx. I had brought some stuff with me along with a couple changes of clothes as I had a strange feeling I might get stranded. I was going to go and buy a 1/72 scale fighter and try a quickie build, but then I found the Hawk kit, still in its shipping box, in the back of my car. So it won’t be a quick build, matter of fact, it’ll go straight to the SOD when I get home. I’m in the middle of a resin biplane build, and still building PE flaps for my Helldiver, so this’ll sit till I’m done.
  8. The roads are literally iced over and all but impassible as of last night, so I wasn’t able to get home. What’s a guy to do? Fortunately, I had hit a LHS yesterday morning, and as well, I had an unopened kit in the truck, soooooooo…. Might as well do something.
  9. There have been one or two built on this forum already, and just in case y’all forgot, Eagle Editions makes some REALLY decent 1/32 Tomahawk decal sets, including not only the RAF Tomahawk llB, but also the AVG covering all three Squadrons. Both AVG decal sets are very accurate and also correct the errors with the kit supplied decals, especially regarding variations in the Shark’s Mouth colors. The RAF Tomahawk decals will be extremely handy once GWH releases their anticipated RAF Tomahawk version.
  10. I got tried of waiting for the US distributors and ordered from Hannants.
  11. A d I still forgot one more: a Kitty Hawk Little Bird real close to finishing.

  13. Right you are, my friend! And that, Sports Fans, is why we shouldn’t rely on restorations and/or previous model builds for reference. 😡 The good news being I only lightly attach easily knocked off parts with a drop of CA, so off they come. 😂 It’s GOOD to be the Lord of the Manor.
  14. OMG! Just about pissed myself!
  15. Awesome look, Rob! I was online a couple days back, looking for period maps of the North Sea shore, etc. I’ll certainly find something and add it to some PE. And those metal braces look stellar!
  16. Oh man, I’d be building that Cobra. It’s a stellar kit!
  17. You know, the more I look at that, the wheel looks way too fat for a normal guy’s hands. Probably worth forming a new, skinnier one, but it’ll be hard too see as it’s buried between the wings.
  18. As everyone who builds resin knows, test fit, text fit, test fit. Tomorrow, on goes the internal CDL and wood areas, dirty up and rig the interior. Oh yay.
  19. Oh nice! I’ve just learned a new trick. I freehand all my lines, and it sometimes takes me a couple shots at it. I’ll be doing this from now of. Looking absolutely super so far!
