  1. Love it factory fresh is working 4me! The Goodyear Corsair's are my favourite as well, nice to see and like your work with the aerials. Am very pleased the Corsair's have taken over the forum for a small amount of time! Thanks for sharing and for photo's very clear.
  2. Thanks for sharing, and saw it at Telford last November 2015,really liked it and neat idea with the film edging around the base! Am a bit biased I guess but very well presented model and weathering looked great!
  3. Laurent, Love your work on the Avenger and I know it's a funny request but can we some more pics of the Corsair just really like it in bare metal, and as you know have a bit of of addiction even though it's 1/48! It looks fab! Checkered Rules apply!
  4. Great news with these Hurricanes! Have ordered the Tropical version as it looks so lovely via eBay/uk. You can order direct from the fly website but it's strange you get a better price £29 but then right up to checkout then you get slaughtered for 21% VAT! + post,as experienced but didn't push the confirm button! So eBay 36.90+6.90,via a user name robertsum works out pretty cool! Hannants I think always seems high with their post charges! But all good whichever way you choose, can't wait god arrival next week in time for my birthday! What a nice release, and quite interesting as Zm releasing the Fw190 a bit of 1/32 fever!
  5. Thanks for kind words! Can't take all the credit for this build was inspired by build by Graham Greene he built this a few years before me at Milton Keynes model show and liked how he weathered painted it,maybe a bit clean but the colours were a mix of gunze and Tamiya acylics, all airbrushed with fine needle on a badger 200, I think sort of masked the line between the green/grey and the light blue, with Tamiya tape and blue tack now white tack for softer demarcation lines. Burnt umber raw umber oils for the panel lines, and finished with aeromaster flat varnish, lovely stuff when it was available! Have the 1/32 Focke Wulf 190 A5 by Hasegawa, with the eduard pre painted etch interior, and the rare Messerschmitt 109 G14! Some great kits but have a soft spot for the D9,P40,P51,P38,and especially the F4U1A/D. Happy modelling!
  6. Great to see a Corsair being built, interesting conversion. The cockpit looks great and can't wait to see decals etc, cheers!
  7. Bill, There is also a great build up of this one on cyber modeller by Larry Horner,it's a full build article you should enjoy I know I did! And I printed it off for the reference, have started engine!
  8. Great review love it,and wonder why they didn't show the incendiary bombs in the instructions.
  9. Love it a great build! Very nice as I bought one a couple of years back and forgot I had it. Am going to build with lightning bolts on and am going to spend some time on cockpit and engine. Am going to use Eduard pre painted seatbelts! Cheers.
  10. Thanks Artful, It looks a great kit,I forgot that I had the bonus pilot and I will post some pics soon!
  11. Hi, Just a few questions for this one,has anyone built fairly recently and what's it like? This is my first Zoukei kit so rookie time! Good points and bad points and time frame of build compared to a Tamiya Mustang 1/32! I have one in my stash and am undecided whether to build!
  12. Ralph,it's looking good, reminds me when I built mine! I think this is the best Tamiya kit ever, but haven't built the Corsair yet which they reckon is slightly superior! Are you going to use kit decals?
  13. Cheers Guys, Interesting updates am pleased Eduard are releasing some bits! I started the engine and the parts are ok but all parts are very close to parts trees and need sharp scalpel to cut off or very thin side cutters otherwise part damage could occur! A bit like the Kinetic kits but all good fun!
  14. Hey Keith, this is all I know! Well the 21st Century kits originally were released I think by Walmart for about $5 in US,too cheap to make a profit me thinks and modellers loved them and bought most! We had a few make the trip over the pond and came up 4sale at about £5-7 in the Uk. But not the Corsair this was always a bit more expensive and harder to obtain I think I bought mine from kit Krazy £20 a few years back and my last one from Kentuckey/US for about £40. They did 1/32 Stuka,Messerschmitt 109G,Macchi,Zero and Corsair, funny no British aircraft! I think I still have a Macchi and 109 or Zero to build in the loft! The great thing about these kits they have plenty of potential as they are quick to build and the pilots are very accurate features from each country they come from! There are good points and bad points to the kits but overall I think they represent good value and great subjects! The only thing is the panel lines are maybe to large but you can always fill them a little or primer a bit more if you are not happy. I personally think they are a fun build straight out the box. I think 21st Century unfortunately went bust a little time after they started but think there are kits knocking around! If you goggle it you may find some history about them! I think they were part of the Ultimate Soldier series where some were prepainted models! And I think these are still available as most modellers like to paint there own! Hope this helps a little, cheers buddy!
  15. Thanks Spitfire! With the Macchi did you build it with the patchy green and tan scheme or the grey versions am interested. I have the 109 and the Macchi to do,great kits with accurate pilots!
  16. This one I think have the original build up on the modeller site you can view.
  17. KeithB, I think that would look really cool it is a very easy kit to work on and the reason I like so much is it goes together quickly! A welcome relief sometimes from the state of the art kits we have! I have another kit 21st Century ready for the Budweiser racer conversion! It's funny because at the moment am half way through a 1/48 Hobbyboss Corsair The Fleet sir arm am building it as a bit of practice before the Tamiya Corsair!
  18. Jim, That should be good I know Geoff pretty well! The cyber modeller build up I really like by Larry. Just one question you may help with "We're the yellow top surfaces for the wings only used for a short time?" Cheers
  19. Well I thought just to post I recently purchased this kit and although there are a few issues! I am really pleased with it fabulous decals options six in total, and some great details. I just wondered whether the aftermarket guys have brought any extras out yet that are worth considering? Thanks for your input!
  20. Thanks, well this one I took my time over but managed to get done fairly quick for me I think about 3 weeks end to end I could not put it down! It was a better model than I thought and for some reason heavier but the fit problems were a shame! But what inspired me with this project was the painting or rather weathering of the prop blades and tires. I viewed a Zoukei version 152 model at Hornchurch model show and the modeller had weathered the edges of the blades extremely well it had an effect of the propeller like it had just stopped so I tried to emulate on my model. The tire technique I quite enjoyed so used it on this one as well,so I can't take credit for all but just nice to share ideas and experiment a little!
  21. Cheers,a kit that was not too easy to paint as I masked and spayed the red and white lines underneath but Tamiya 6mm tape to the rescue, built quite a while ago I am not sure but I think 2000!
  22. Cheers buddy, Some modellers are put off with the panel lines with these kits as they are views as tram lines, heh heh! But I think this kit was one of my most enjoyable ever hardly any filler and the only poor point is the dowels you have to fill, but other than that a real pleasure which is why I managed to buy another from California!
  23. Thanks vmuch I can't believe how old this model is I think I built it back in 2002/3! This one I remember needed a lot of injection pin holes to be filled but it was worth the work.
