Gents this is a 16th SOL Sherman T23 turret next to a 35th Sherman.
It's big, I can't fathom a 6th scale one!
BTW the tracks on the SOL offering condemn it to be a Korean war unit only....sigh.

Yeah he does a walk around of the unit and drives it too.
Very cool.

Harv the valve cover is on the side, in this pic it is the silver panel under the exhaust manifold,
Takom must have measured or photographed a unit with out this on it. (Or the plug rail, or magneto for that matter.)

Some progress with the Pfalz. I added all the little things prior to the rigging. I will pre-rig the upper wing first, attach it to the struts and then connect the pre riggings with the lower wings eyelets and add turnbuckles.
The typical Colour Silbergrau gave me some headaches while trying to mix. I tried different aluminum Colours from Alclad and AK and mixed them with Tamiya flat white. All these mixtures went lumpy, so I used the Tamiya white with Tamiya metallic gray and misted some matte aluminum from AK' Extreme Metals on.It's hard to capture on a photo, but I like the effect, as the elegant Pfalz looks even more speedy.
Cheers Rob
Damn Doc, fantastic!

Here is a good video of the engine.
You will note some things Takom left off.
1. Valve cover
2. Ingition harness
3. Fuel line
4. Magneto assembly
Its interesting that the upper (black part) block is all one piece, no cylinder head. (BTW the kit parts fit terrible here and need a bunch of work to appear seamless.)

Just build it what ever its called.

One and the same Harv.
The main difference is the in the turret and armament.
I think the FT term was actually created in WWII, I don't believe they were called this in WWI.

Doesn't bother me at all Smitty.
Glad I could persuade a build!

Now this is a large scale model.
Got this kit for Xmas from the wife and have had chance to stick some parts together. Engine construction is largely done, but still need to clean some seams.
Note the size of this 4 CYLINDER engine next to the glue bottle!

Man think about the work to finish that thing the right way.
Gallon of Tamiya putty to texture the hull and turret, and a larger brush to stipple it with!
Me thinks this thing could cast it's own shadows so no pre-shading with your automotive sprayer.
