    Sweet kit I’m told!

If it's anything like their Sherman V Firefly then it certainly is.

Well, I haven't built anything armor related since I was a teenager. I don't remember exactly what that was, I think it was either a US Halftrack or an M109 Howitzer. So, I've had the itch, but it had to be something I felt like building. I actually won a Russian tank in the raffle at Chattanooga but after talking with someone who had just won some Russian figures, I donated that kit to him. Sorry, I was not into building that kit. Last week SB had some 'Damaged Box' kits on sale, so I bought this kit.

And, how fitting, it went from SB in the Kansas City area to Chicago to Dallas to Nashville and then to the local PO for delivery. It normally takes a rather direct path. And since the kit was a damaged box kit, why not add a little. :lol::lol:

Now to figure out which Olive Drab in the MRP line looks best.

Nice choice Dave, smushed box and all.

Oddly, for all the Sherman's I've built (about a half dozen) I've yet to do an American one.

  2. I started the Takom M29C Weasel kit shortly after it came out. The tracks and running Gear were a complete mess. The parts were too small and the alignment pins were too shallow to get things lined up properly. Then the link and length tracks weren't a great fit either.

Then FC Modeltrends came out with a one piece track and running gear 3D printed set. I carefully ripped off the kit stuff and after removing the FDM parts from the print supports, I glued those on.

Much better. Now I might have enough encouragement to finish the build.

  3. Not scientific at all since I'm colour blind but here's the 3 versions that I have.

L-R: Tru Color TCP-1290 RAF Interior Grey Green, Tamiya XF-71, AK Real Colors RC293 RAF Cockpit Grey Green.

I tend to use whichever one comes to hand, except for maybe the Real Colours which dried out a bit it seems.

Did I mention I'm colour blind?

  4. Well, I finally got one of the big Spitfire VIII kits. 2 years ago I ordered a couple of the 1/48 Tamiya F-14 kits during Lucky Models' anniversary sale. They sold oou and were never able to get them back in stock for some reason. So I saw the Spitfire in this year's sale, got them to credit me for the F-14s and it arrived today.

Still have a small balance leftover so I'll look into some AM.

I’m not the only one wondering what that big red monstrosity is. Good LORD it’s ugly!

For a moment I thought you meant the Ranchero behind your bike. Then I saw the uh, bike beside you.

  6. Ernie, if that's your idea of a junker I can't wait to see what the Sunday ride looks like.

Like Martin said,  a lovely looking bike. Glad to see it bringing a smile to your face.
