  1. There is a Group on Facebook that may interest you! Trumpeter 1/16 PzKpfw IV
  2. Very nice. Having Canadian heritage (on my Father's side) I will be building some Canadian themed stuff this year!

  5. So been building this since November after mislaying parts and the box since moving of the previous build. So off I toddled. And this is the result (the hatches are just tacked in place). Not bad for a first try. 6. I built this for a WW1 theme Group Build elsewhere. I really enjoyed this kit. The base is an old CD case. The figures came with the kit (I didn't use the Nurse or other casualty as saving them for the early version). 7. Thank you. You would think the Lanc is one of my favourite airplanes. But it isn't despite my Grandfather crewing 'em. My favourite airplane is the Avro Shackleton, although not many books published about that old warhourse.
  8. NX611 at East Kirkby was not Canadian built (she was built by Austin Motors) and she has a Black cockpit up to the front of the main spar. As does PA474. Also the A.V.Roe Co Ltd camouflage drawing Z1723 of 31/3/41 specifies only that 'the interior of the bomb compartment, undercarriage compartment including doors and interior of wing flaps are to be painted Night'. As mentioned above the fuselage interior was green on early Lancs and then Night later on and this probably applied to turrets too.
  9. 10. In 2015 I fulfilled a boyhood dream of visiting Lancs throughout the country (three of them in Bomber County of course). The Lanc means a lot to me as my late Grandfather was on Lancs during WW2 and Post-War with Coastal Command "The Kipper Fleet". Most of the pics in this walkaround are mainly of KB976 and NX611 with a few of PA474 Duxford's KB889 and Hendon's R5868. Now I've bored you all enough already so on to the pics. So first KB976 which was at the time in the RAF Scampton Heritage Centre. The fact that KB976 has Canadian heritage like me means even more to me (even more since I got aboard her) DSC_2316_1306_zpsuqurk4c8 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr DSC_2327_1317_zpsgeaxarb8 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr DSC_2324_1314_zpshcv2ohr9 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr DSC_2325_1315_zpsimgtw5fq by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr Trailing aerial fairing. 11. The motor is now complete. The Maybach HL230 P30 was a re-bored HL210 P30 to increase the displacement from 21,000cc to 23,000cc. During production of the HL230 the maximum rpm was reduced to 2500 by the factory. There were two versions of the HL230, the P30 as used in the Panther and King Tiger and Jagdtiger and the P45, as used in the Mid and Late Tiger's and the Sturmtiger. The only decals that come for the engine in the kit is the data plate on the engine at the front. The label for the air filter's came from my decal bank. 15. One Maybach HL230 P30 engine under construction. DSC_3500_11863 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr The HL230 P30 was a water cooled, 23 litre, V12 gasoline engine. 9,000 HL230 engine's were produced by Maybach, Auto Union and Daimler-Benz.
  16. I noticed the fire extinguisher on the left wasn't sitting right. So now I've rectified it. DSC_3485_11849 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr

  18. First discrepancy I've found with the kit are that the MG ammo bags are a little on the small side, compared to Meng ones from my King Tiger (the MG ammo bags were on the small side in their King Tiger's too) So I'll be using the Meng ones. DSC_3410_11774 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr Takom on the Left , and a Meng one on the Right.

  20. The AK 7-200 has now been painted in RLM 02. Why? Well look at the lower portion of the un-restored 7-200. DSC_2900_11269 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr DSC_2901_11270 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr This is an un-restored 7-200 transmission, and that lower portion looks like RLM 02 to me, or an equivalent colour. 28276717_1947791745249172_4770394428487800363_n by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr
  21. I started this last month in between packing. DSC_2843_11214 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr Progress has been slow. This is how far I've gotten on the build. DSC_2845_11216 by Darren Greenwood, on Flickr I never build anything without references, otherwise there is no point in doing a build eh?
