Re: decals are there any Croat markings out there? As I'd like to do a Croatian operated machine.

Lovely work so far. I have one of these on my wants list. So watching with interest.

I really enjoyed this build, as it's something from the norm for me. I did it as a "What-If", as I thought it looked a bit plain as is. Anyway on to the pics.

Just a light dusting. And here is how the Tortoise looks at the moment.

As I have to save money for Christmas, Mum doesn't want me buying anything modelling related. So with that in mind I went thru my decal bank to see if I had any suitable decals for the Tortoise. And decided on a Polish operated vehicle if it had gone into service. Well here is the fruit of that. Probably not to everyone's taste. But I'm having fun, which is what the hobby is all about eh?

A bit more progress. And I've achieved what I wanted to do with the gun.

Right so as it's a "What-If" here's how the Tortoise looks at the moment. I'm doing the gun like the Sherman Firefly's with counter shading.

Well made a big hole in the assembly in the early hours and most of today.

Right so at last the suspension is installed. Now it's on to the treads.

Right suspension done. Now to get these painted. Fit the return rollers and install them on to the lower hull.

Right so Idler's and drive wheels done. Just adding some color.

Right I'm slowly getting everything together for this build. And received these figures last week. Not thought of a use for them yet. But all will become clear once I get going.

Right so I've been saving and bought these recently. And I'll be adding some tank riders to the rear of the beast too and some Royal Engineers! As it will be set in the Late Summer/early Autumn of 1945. Yes I know realms of fantasy, but it's going to be fun. I now have to research which unit would have used the Tortoise.

Looks great and the red colour is about right for the red oxide primer.
