JohnB Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 Completed this one today. I was very pleased with the fit and detail of this kit. I decided on this particular a/c since, to me, the markings and camo are very eye catching. Most of the decals came from my decal stash plus I had to print the codes "S9-CT" using my computer and printer. I used Testor's MM and White Ensign paints. Seat belts are from FineMolds. I hope you like it! Click on the 1st photo, etc as always. 6 1
JohnB Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 If any of you are interested I put together this diagram detailing what paints and colors I used on this model. 3 2
CANicoll Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 John, VERY helpful!!! That diagram with your paint is brilliant. The plane is beautiful - great paint scheme and nice job on the decals - they look terrific. IT is an eye-catching scheme that I have not seen before. 4

KUROK Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Great job and very colorful subject. Did you to the mottling freehand with the airbrush? I just don't trust my skills yet on that. 3

BlrwestSiR Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Great looking 109. Awesome and unique camo scheme too. Thanks for doing the paint colour chart too. 4

Peterpools Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 HI John Absolutely a stellar build, as the cammo and markings are so unique, home grown, and perfectly done. So glad you decided to pick up the fight and retackle those few issues that originally had the 1090 back in the box. It's so easy to see how much thought and planning went into working out your painting guide. On most of my builds I do something of the same, working out the paints and colors I'm going to use on the kits included painting guide but nothing as detailed as yours. 🏆 3

I'm happy you like the results of my efforts. I'm happy with the way it turned out and that you guys like the diagram I included. Something a bit different! 😃 1
Peterpools Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 John Nice to learn a new way of preparing and working through the painting phase of a build, with a well thought out game plan. Already have been making more detailed notes on my painting guide for the Spitfire. 2
