F-100D bare metal decals?

I have a F-100D in the stash that i whant to build bare metal.

I also have decals for the tripple zilich but so far what i found this plain whas painten silver and not bare metal.

Is that correct?

Otherwise is ther some one that can point me in a good direction for decals for the metal finnish?

Yes, funny you ask this because I was going over some future builds in my head last night and one of the things I read in the past was early jets that everyone assumed was bare metal were actually painted silver.  F-105, F-100, F-86, etc.

What I know is the F-105 started with a real NMF, then, as a corrosion guard were painted silver. I do not know for the F-100, or F-86, but would assume it is a likely possibility ..

Hubert, one of the things I was reading, and since you’re a great wealth of knowledge and can help me on this, was the F-105 Thunderbird.   I was thinking it was natural aluminum finish, but read somewhere it was painted silver?  I have the kit and decals along with the B nose to do this one - one day.  
If it was natural metal, I’d like to replicate that.

Need to go back to my references, but, from the dates the Thunderbirds flew them, and the pics I remember, I’d say they were NMF, not silver-painted …

Early F-105 where metal afterwards the got silver paint the same with the F-100

But i have to look it up again what time frame it whas so far i can remember it whas in the 60s

Found this

From Warbird Tech on the Thud:

 

"All F105's were factory finished in natural metal but under Project Lookalike beginning June 1962 all were painted with a silver laquer sealing compartments against corrosion. Thunderbirds aircraft were left in NM though.

The laquer was clear but had 12 oz of aluminium paste added per gallon (text does not say whether the gallon is US or Imperial)

Early 105B's and also D models in Europe left in NM were found to have suffered badly from corrosion hence the paint job

Later the SE Asia scheme was applied from 1965."

About the F-100D the strted yo paint silver from 1960.

All before where metal so tripple zilch is from 1957 so i can o for metal.

That whas th plan for my F-100 to foil the beast.

I think I’m going to try out Flight-Metal instead of BMF. RC guys use it. It’s .0018 thick.  Just a hair thicker than heavy duty kitchen foil.  
If I could get the micro sol adhesive to work I’d be tempted to try that.

I still have to find a better alternative to Micro Foil Adhesive, but have not so far. 
One important thing : Micro Foil adhesive can be thinned (a lot) with alcohol. I then brushed it on the part to be foiled rather than the foil. But, yes, the thicker the foil, the better, when you want to burnish it on compound curves.
