I've decided to build another Tamiya 1/32 P-51 and mark it as a Air National Guard a/c. I've always liked the looks of this particular a/c so now I intend to model it. I found I don't have the right size black letters and numbers in my decal stash so I'll make some. I scanned and re-scaled these then printed them out on clear decal paper. Fingers crossed it will work out okay. 🙂 If anyone has a photo or photos of this particular a/c I'd sure like to see them. Thanks.

Thanks for the info and photos Martin. That particular a/c is my "alternate" build if needed. 🙂

The pit looks most excellent... and John your props always look clean like I can never see the clear for the decals :unworthy:

I don't know if anyone noticed my screwup but I had the fuselage tank fill line and gas gauge reversed. This has now been corrected.🤪  (The older I get the more mistakes I make. I DON'T like it!!! ☹️)

Your IPs always look fantastic.  Great Dry Brushing.  Funny, I saw the gauge and the filler and was just pondering that when I scrolled down and saw your message.  Saved me from getting up and checking the Mustangs in my case.

Thanks Chris. I didn't notice I had 'em backasswards until I put the fuselage halves together but I was able to correct it then. 🙂

Making some nice progress today. Yes, I know, the wheel wells were usually unpainted aluminum with only the main spar in the rear painted YZC. I decided to make a exception and paint my wells YZC. I think MAYBE at some point when going through depot work, etc the wells might have been painted. LOL Maybe, maybe not. At any rate the wells on this one are painted. 🙂

NMF applied! I'm waiting for some resin wheels before attaching the landing gear. Supposed to deliver today.

Thanks Martin. Remember to always warm them up some though they can be bent without breaking. I use a coffee mug warmer to lay 'em on for a FEW seconds. 🙂
