Martinnfb Posted March 12 Author Posted March 12 Quinta rib tape performed really well. I based the layout on pictures I had available, all two of them, lol. Needless to say that there are at least 3 known types of the rudder. My version I shall call "Vienna flapper". ( my doctor said it's ok) Just noticed those three autistic looking bolts, that will be corrected. 5 1
Martinnfb Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 Thank you Dennis, I need to figure out what to do with my eyesight. Probably going get a magnifier of sort. The next step is going to be sanding down the ribbing on elevators and ailerons to match it to the tail. 3
PanzerWomble Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I use Cheapo x4 reading specs which I find are cheap and disposable as I don’t like optivisors 👍 2
Martinnfb Posted March 14 Author Posted March 14 I do have prescription reading glasses, but the focal length has such a limited depth of field that I can't get use to it. Money well wasted. 1

Money well wasted. Same deal here , I use low power prescription reading glasses but they are no use for close up work . Splash out $3 at your local drugstore & see whatcha think? I generally get silly colours so I don't accidentally take them out the study https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223146769624?var=524814349880 My mum put me on to them a few years ago bless her . 2
Martinnfb Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Rough layout, before primer. Magnification brutally exposing my sloppiness. 2
PanzerWomble Posted March 15 Posted March 15 The scratching is upsetting you ? Thin plasticard ? The fuse box looks great 😊 2
Martinnfb Posted March 15 Author Posted March 15 Thank you Guy. I am actually glad to finalize the layout, based on those pictures. It is not perfect, but close enough. That small pony wall housing oxygen controls and radio doodahs will be very interesting exercise in such a small space. 3
Martinnfb Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Got a new medical bracelet. You know sharp knives and all. with this boost my moral is rising exponentially. Cockpit is beginning to look like the one one in the K4 version. Has anybody seen one?, no ? , right,,, placarts and detailing will follow once the wash goo dries. 5
PanzerWomble Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Looks Pukka ! Nice bit of scratch building there & quite a bit different to the E's I've built . 1 1
Martinnfb Posted March 16 Author Posted March 16 Airfix is funny this way. then I realized that HGW is funny as well. Last time I checked the seatbelts were able to fit through the buckle. anyway, I’m done with the cockpit for now. Not great, not terrible. and the fuse is fused together ….. yes I had to add the nose and rejoice by going weeeee 3
PanzerWomble Posted March 16 Posted March 16 soooooo.......Are you hands that small .......or is that the 109 in your back yard ? Fess Up ! & Fuse done ........can I suggest some muzak ? Cracking tune 1 2
Martinnfb Posted Wednesday at 01:07 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 01:07 AM You could notice that I ripped off the intake, well there is a reason for it. This picture. Kotare has chosen such a beautiful solution in order to replicate the intake seam line. I shall try to rework the shape once again. 3
Martinnfb Posted Wednesday at 04:08 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:08 AM Instrument panel is based on the Airfix part for obvious reasons. I shall slow down here a bit. 3
BlrwestSiR Posted Wednesday at 12:44 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:44 PM It's coming along nicely there. Annoying about the belts being too wide for the buckles. Such an odd error to make. 1 1
