Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 13 Administrators Posted February 13 Hi all, Fellow member Martinnfb remembered I said one day I was interested in building a Stuka once. He was insanely kind to gift me a Hasegawa Ju-87D-8 he had in the stash. Not shying away from building multiple projects at the same time I started flipping through my Stuka books. I have an idea, but it's not crystal clear yet. I feel like building two piled up Stuka's with all panels open. I might change my mind a couple of times. A bought the Aladdin models 3d model of a Jumo 211 engine. It has the B radiator hanging underneath, but I will 3D print what I need to make it a souped up version for the Ju-87D. Meanwhile I am researching the Mg151/20 wing guns and 3D drawing the gun bays. This will actually be the easiest part. Aires cockpit is ordered. 1Manarmy masks. HGW seatbelts. Eduard exterior. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 13 Author Administrators Posted February 13 First 3d print of engine. The firewall needs adjustments, but for a first try I am pretty pleased. 10
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 13 Author Administrators Posted February 13 Added the ED151B unit to the left side of the MG151/20. I measured the gun bay hatch on the kit and the room there is for the gun bay. I found some Luftwaffe manuals on the Ju-87D and will figure out what is what. 10
PanzerWomble Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Strapped into the back cockpit, hanging on , this will be a roller coaster of a ride ! 3
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 14 Author Administrators Posted February 14 The detail on the Aladdin Models 3d file is actually intended for 1/12 scale. So if you shrink it down to 32nd scale, the detail is amazing. All the wires are there. Same on the engine itself. You really have to take care not to snip and off. 5 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 15 Author Administrators Posted February 15 First plastic is cut. Now working on fhe inner frame that holds the hatch. 3
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 15 Author Administrators Posted February 15 Freeing the Jumo from its supports takes longer than the 3 hour printing time. No joke. You have to be very careful not to snip off a cable or two. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 16 Author Administrators Posted February 16 I might add some boys to the diorama. Not sure about their interaction and stance, but the first Ai trial looks promising. 6
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 17 Author Administrators Posted February 17 Some progress on the MG151 gunbays. I made the wing frame so, that it will slot in the hole and I don't have to thin the plastic around the edges too much. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 17 Author Administrators Posted February 17 Yes. This ju-87g just landed and will be placed on top of the ju-87d in a scrapyard setting. Both in colours of Hans Rudel’s crare, who flew both the D and the G 4
Martinnfb Posted February 17 Posted February 17 As you mentioned scrapyard, this picture came to mind. 3 1

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 19 Author Administrators Posted February 19 What i only noticed yesterday is that the engine i printed was mirrored. Why? No clue. I’ll print a new one this weekend…
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 19 Author Administrators Posted February 19 Roughing it out and trying out numerous photo's of ww2 children on a seesaw. These two kids will be playing in front of the 2 Stuka's. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 20 Author Administrators Posted February 20 Goodies! Benefits of living 10 min from the aviation megastore. First print of the gunbay looks promising 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 21 Author Administrators Posted February 21 Letting the prints properly cure, but had to do a quick dryfit. Also reprinted the entire engine after i mirrored it. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 21 Author Administrators Posted February 21 So I downloaded this gunners seat from Cults3D (I believe). It came with harness and it took me an entire evening to remove it in my 3D software. 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 21 Author Administrators Posted February 21 Almost a perfect fit for the inner hatch frame. 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 22 Author Administrators Posted February 22 Seat printed 5
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 22 Author Administrators Posted February 22 Et voila. And another rascal for the playground. 3
