GARRARDA Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 WnW's beautiful H-B W.12........great kit that will be built mostly OOB. I'll get a picture of the box and content tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the work so far. Gary Adams 3
seiran01 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Gary, I caught your build pics over on the WNW facebook page and loved it then, but I didn't notice the amount of added detail you've put in - freaking well done! 2
GARRARDA Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 The starting point of my entry is the WnW H-B W.12, that was released last year. The only extras I will add are a few scratch built details plus Gaspatch turnbuckles and Uschi van der Rosten wood grain decals. EZ line for the small amount of rigging required. 1
GARRARDA Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 Test fitting the engine......took maybe 6 hours over the last 2 days. The build is going well.....amazing fit but tolerances are exacting.... Next up will be to close the fuselage.....finished with wood grain decals from Uschi van der Rosten, over coated with Tamiya clear orange and yellow. 2
GARRARDA Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Fuselage closed up, engine finished and glued in place, pe mg's constructed, seams sanded and polished. Next up is painting and decaling the fuselage. What a fun kit to build! The switch to 1/32 scale was painless! LOL Gary Adams IPMS USA #5495 1
GARRARDA Posted July 15, 2015 Author Posted July 15, 2015 A couple quick pics after painting the fuselage and applying the first decals. Comments welcomed..... Gary Adams, IPMS USA #5495
Administrators Fran Posted July 15, 2015 Administrators Posted July 15, 2015 Gorgeous! The propeller is fantastic!!
GARRARDA Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Finished my WnW Hansa-Brandenburg W.12. Beautiful kit, built mostly OOTB. Added some small details in the rear cockpit (log book, compass, pencil, Flares, etc.) Model Master paints, markings from the kit, GasPatch turnbuckles, EZline rigging. Heavily weathered (after all, it was based on the North Sea coast) with oils and chalk pastels. Most fun I've had in years building and finishing a model. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
