The past few months the RAF Museum at Hendon have been busy to dismantle the various aircraft displayed there. In this thread you can follow the ungoing activities there, the pics show a lot of previously unseen details.

Thanks for posting Cees. It always amazes me how neatly some of these disassemble.

Indeed and also note how badly the airframes were conserved in the early seventies by pouring that red stuff everywhere.

The Halifax is covered with it on the outside. Although they are cleaning it up at the moment.
