Korean War F-51D finished
JohnB replied to JohnB's topic in LSM 1/32 and Larger Aircraft Ready for Inspection
Thanks Frank. I used the Quick Boost prop because I had used the kit prop on one of my air racer builds. -

Thank you! -
He asked me to post something about his recent absence. He's contending with a major renovation of his house and has very little time to post here. Said he'll be back soon though. JohnB

Thank you Phil. I'm pleased you like the results of my efforts. I look forward to seeing your finished '51! Next up, unless I decide otherwise, is a Czech Master F-80C. -

Thanks Paul! I appreciate the nice comment. MUCH better than just a "like". -
All done with this one guys. https://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/15489-korean-war-f-51d-finished/

This build is essentially OOB except for the cockpit, seat and armor plate. I also used Quickboost props which needed some thinning of their width to be "right". As they were they were more like T-28 props. Painted with Alclad Dark Aluminum, Alclad Stainless Steel, Testor's Zinc Chromate and Testor's Blue (which happened to match the decals through blind luck!). The decals are kit decals and went on VERY well. Nice and thin as opposed to some of their earlier decals. I enjoyed this build and I hope you guys like it also. Thanks Paul. This one was 1/2 done and was on the shelf "for later" when I resumed work on it.

Alclad comes in lots of different shades such as aluminum, dk. aluminum, duraluminum, etc.
-
Alclad Dark Aluminum and Testor's gloss blue Kevin.

LOL Gus! I don't remember seeing ANY flaws in your builds!

ICM A-26B air racer finished

Thanks Paul, I'm glad you like it! -

LOL Peter. Since it was already 1/2 done when I got back to it it should go fairly fast baring any OOPS.

Heck of a deal alright!

Thanks Kevin. Looks good doesn't it? -
Should work out just fine Paul. I've been using Alclad for quite some time and it always looks good.
-
No Gaz. I don't use foil. I'll paint it with Alclad lacquer. 😉

I don't expect them to be a problem but we will see.
