I'm working on my Thud cockpit and can't quite figure out the best way to get the mirror look on my mirrors.  Polished foil, a paint, anything else? Any ideas from the masters would be great.

Tony...

Go to your local Craft or Sewing store. There you will find little packets of metallic cut-out Chads for jewellery and some-such. There will be round ones, sometimes all silver or gold, or often assorted colours and shapes.

These are excellent for mirrors and as backing for lights on model aircraft, tanks and cars. The blue ones I find particularly useful on BMW or Mercedes cars mirrors, which in real life often have a blue tint to them.

Ask a sign guy for some chrome vinyl , can be cut on a plotter or punched out.

The chrome on my Fat Boy Lo showed a flow line from the casting, I used the chrome vinyl to wrap the outside:

Any sign shop should sell you a piece.

... Or a piece of kitchen alu foil, glued with MS Metal foil adhesive and varnished, could the trick (varnish to add « depth » to the mirror effect)
