My Airfix 1/24 scale Typhoon

Recommended Posts

Moving closer to the finish line. Finished painting the underwing roundels and side squadron letters. I also repainted the prop spinner medium blue for the squadron this aircraft is in instead of the dark red I had painted it. I need to paint the fuselage stripe and plane ID serial number next. I also have to paint and install the underwing rockets and maybe the two 44 gallon fuel tanks

Absolutely stunning build congrats, just looking at my first stencils for markings. I saw you use Vallejo, which blue and red do you recommend for the roundels etc…….

For the blue I used Vallejo air #71.300 glossy sea blue(which is not glossy)

white is Vallejo #70.929 cold white. Or just white #70.950

the red took some trial and error on my spitfire first. I ended up using mission models acrylic mmp-013 red oxide

and of course the 1 man army 1/24 scale masks.9F63233E-5681-4B48-A797-61E679E999BF.thumb.jpeg.1ff5c483a208dd071fd12fac6e35237f.jpeg0BD45C1C-AEA9-4182-B530-7486FB2D60D1.thumb.jpeg.d33776d5dd666c4c1ba28896203bab4a.jpeg

Masked and painted the anti skid walkways and step today. Wetted and applied sugar to the walkway surface and sprayed dark gull grey. Wiped the sugar off after it dried. Happy with it. I assembled the underwing rocket launcher rails and rockets and I’ll paint them tomorrow. I’ll also install the bomb racks but not the bombs.

Next up will be a Kenetic 1/24 scale p-47 Thunderbolt bubble top. Never built a kenetic kit before and it looks kinda basic.

The Typhoon came really Nice and not over done on the weathering,:unworthy:As to the Kenetic what I have seen some do with the engine has been pretty nice but it was added on.The copit did seem it was kind of bland from what little I have seen but enhancements I would bet can be added fairly easy just let the imagination happen.;)
