JohnB
Tamiya kit with FineMolds belts, Barracuda wheels and cockpit details. Painted with Alclad, MM and Tamiya Acrylic (OD uppers). I replaced the top wing halves with some from a Revell kit which gets rid of the over done rivet details on the corresponding Tamiya wings. Decals are a combination of kit decals, Draw Decals and some from my decal stash. I hope you like it. 4
Peterpools
John Awesome build and she looks so good. The grafted Revell upper wings looks perfect and you made it look so easy. 🏆

I'm pleased with the way it turned out and the grafted on Revell upper wings remedy the over done rivet detail on the Tamiya wings. I'm glad I had a set of Revell wings left over from a previous build. Now to try to decide on what's next. No clue right now though (don't have ANY Corsair kits either!).
Peterpools
John Holy Smokes, no Corsair kits in the stash - I would have thought that was impossible. 😉

A big reason I build and post here is to show my work and get some feedback, etc from the members. No member posts, except for yours Peter, makes it hardly worth it. 😕 However, I want to thank the guys that fairly regularly DO post on my build threads. Much appreciated. Mo_GSP
I think it's a lovely build. Something about OD on a NMF! I've built this exact scheme many years ago and it's one of my favorites. Also wanted to ask, did you use a flat coat on it? If so, what brand?
shadowmare
Nice work John! Did Revell wings fit well to Tamiya Fuselage?
Bomber_County
I like this scheme on your 51, the flatness of the OD shows off the mustang lines, congrats…..

Thanks Phil. That Tamiya OD is extremely flat as is evident in the photos. A good "go to" if you want a good flat OD.
