KevinM Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I have been chomping at the bit to get started on this one.The engine was my starting area for reason of personal taste like get my problem area out of the way and operational. The plane will be displayed in-flight as it stands at the moment subject to change.I will be adding Quintas to the office to spruce things up a bit and I am leaning towards the boxart but some mask for the main insignia. 9
Landlubber Mike Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Another beauty in the works - looking forward to following along on this one! 1 1

Did something like this years ago with an Airfix 1/24 Spitfore for a Glad sandwich bag commercial. No pretty like your's, the Tamiya reduction box took up almost the entire nose of the spit. But it worked nice once it was all set up. And it was a big hit on stage. Everyone wanted to play with the power supply to rev the "engine". I have that spitfire around here somewhere still. 2 1
KevinM Posted May 8 Author Posted May 8 Cool! The motors are so small like .160"W and .510" L can take power up to 4.7V so in the long run may add one more battery.Yeah I have a box of potentiometers for calibration. 2
KevinM Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 She is slowly coming together fellas between work, vehicles and he build getting the least attention.I really am now getting what you guys have been saying about these Tamiya kits in their fit/engineering very Nice in 1/32 scale. The wings and tailplanes are not glued just fitted nice fit.I am really hoping to have this completed for a show over in Covington,LA next month if Not the Tempest will be my only entry for 1/32. 8
KevinM Posted June 6 Author Posted June 6 Well I have started the painting process on this one.I started with Mr Surfacer 1500 grey,Tamiya Semi Black, silver (chip) and I guess yellow ID bands. The plane looks like it's going to get colors from 3 different manufactures go figure 4
KevinM Posted Saturday at 11:35 PM Author Posted Saturday at 11:35 PM I have the camo on the plane was not totally satisfied with what Tamiya called out for l.Sand but that is what I did the 109 in in the background.I thionk once I get to the point of weathering it will go darker some and blend in well enough. I added a photo seeing how sometimes it's middlestone color and this is sand 4
DocRob Posted Sunday at 08:35 AM Posted Sunday at 08:35 AM Nice pattern Kevin, but on the pic, it looks very bright. A brown filter would blend the colors better and enrichen them somewhat. Cheers Rob 1 1
