Administrators James H Posted May 10, 2015 Administrators Posted May 10, 2015 This is seriously nice. These wood and metal 229s seem in-vogue, and you're doing this some serious justice. 1
Marcel du Long Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Pooh... you just have to love this one. very nice! Marcel. 1
colt6 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 After building in the tanks and start to weather them, I close the wings and start to paint them. It came out to dark and it looks now more like mahagony then plywood! Lol More and more, I love to work with oils So now let it dry for one week ( I hate that!!) and then the gloss varnish and weathering. Thanks Arno 3
Pepper-Mint Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Beautiful Arno ! Mahogany porn... Cheers, Laurent. 1
AlgiaNick Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Magnificent work Laurent!!! Nice and meticulus details!!! Incredible painting!!! 1
towerpower Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 very impressive paintjob, especially the wood simulation, and IMHO it isn't too dark, looks good from my perspective. You at least did the wood "paint-wise", i bought the Ushi decal wood, just to make it "easy" though i doubt it will...... cheers, jack. 1
colt6 Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Just attach the wings with needles and start weathering, I like thing's dirty! Lol I worked with AK washes and pigments. Thanks Arno 1

colt6 Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 looking better and better with each post I have a question thou - where do you get information regarding the yellow cables, fuel lines and other similar details? Best regards, Sasho Hi Sasho, thanks for your compliments. Most of the fuel lines are included with the kit, the yellow wiring I did after pictures from the museum plane and of course with a little artistic freedom. Lol Arno 1
kmex Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 perfect, nice use of metallic tones, and exellent dirtiness of the engines.... in my opinion the wood looks fine 1
