Administrators JeroenPeters Posted September 29, 2015 Administrators Posted September 29, 2015 Struggling with some loss of mojo, distractions, work, stalled projects, lack of focus AND inspiration, I decided to give the Ohka a whirl. Right off the bat I decided to 3D print the nose charge and display in next to the Ohka, as seen in many pics. Like so: Here's the first render: I found a drawing with measurements. Pretty convenient: And the first parts cleanup: No shrinkage on the fuse: 2
Administrators James H Posted September 29, 2015 Administrators Posted September 29, 2015 Dammit! You started without me! Great start. How will you replace any raised rivet detail? Archer decals?

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 18, 2015 Author Administrators Posted October 18, 2015 Cheers guys, The fuse is closed. Fine sanding and some describing needed. Wings, tail next. 2
Administrators James H Posted October 18, 2015 Administrators Posted October 18, 2015 That just looks superb. Attaboy! This is coming together so quickly, I really need to try and catch up this week.....and I will.
Wingco57 Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Ahh it is less looking like a resin vibrator once you have the wings on. Cees
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 24, 2015 Author Administrators Posted October 24, 2015 With these resin kits, most work goes into making seams disappear, describing lost panel lines in the progress and some re-riveting. So far all is going well. The fuse is closed. Tail is on. Working on control surfaces and dolly now. Also found an Ultracast yellow (well he is!!) figure in the stash. The figure should look a little something like this: 4
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 28, 2015 Author Administrators Posted October 28, 2015 Update! Added lots of leadshot to the nose: And described all the lost panel lines and rivets from sanding: 2
Administrators James H Posted October 28, 2015 Administrators Posted October 28, 2015 So cool. I really like these little suicide/genocide machines. Just great looking. How about the canopy? Resin?
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 29, 2015 Author Administrators Posted October 29, 2015 Cheers George! Just fiddling along. There's actually quite a lot of photo etch and small details to this small kit. Working on blending the windshield in now.
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 29, 2015 Author Administrators Posted October 29, 2015 Hi George, I scored the base at the model show in Eindhoven for 12 euro's. Quite steal. Still working on fitting the canopy: 1
RalphSarc Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I got to see this in person and it's really a sweet build!! 1
Administrators JeroenPeters Posted October 30, 2015 Author Administrators Posted October 30, 2015 You already said it: lots of PE in this kit - that's quite a comprehensive PE fret shown there. Do you need to fold the little thingies just below and rear of the cockpit too? YES George! Very very fiddly, but it's done! Here's the cart all painted up and weathered: 1
