Mish Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I built this one over Christmas/New Year 2011/12. The most expensive kit I had bout to date, one of the nicest and the one I was to make the most mistakes on You will observe that after following the decal manufactures guide without looking at my own references I have religiously followed the guide and continued the invasion stripes too high thus forcing the Star and Bars You will also see that on the underside I put the Star and Bars on upside down I have been minded at times to strip the model and start again, but left as a reminder to check, check again and tripple check references and not to follow decaling guides. 6
rkranias Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 lessons learned, ain't it great. to learn from a mistake is important. to admit a mistake is character. regardless, a very nice build. one of these days I will crack open a TamiyaStang. 2
MikeMaben Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Yeah we all make mistakes, that's a very nice looking build and finish in any case. Not always easy to pull off.
mywifehatesmodels Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Still a great looking Mustang! The finish and overall build look great. John
Mish Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 Thanks guys, learnt a lot from this build.
Dave J Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Looks great! I think I have a spare Star n Bar if you want one...
Mish Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 I've got one thanks Dave just never got around to replacing it and nobody ever sees the underside. Its the fuselage sides that are the glaring fault 1
Administrators James H Posted November 26, 2015 Administrators Posted November 26, 2015 That's still a damn nice result. Such a great kit, and I prefer the Olive drab finish to the NMF too 1
Members Mikester Posted November 30, 2015 Members Posted November 30, 2015 That's a good looking 'Stang, Mish! 1
happy1 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Where did you get the decals from in 1/32. Paul
Mish Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 Where did you get the decals from in 1/32. Paul Hi Paul, the decals are from Kits World Decals and since I built this kit and spoken with them they have updated and corrected their artwork.
