It's definitely not small, especially since it's 1/35.

Is this the new Thunder Models one Carl ? I quite fancied having a go at it myself

I've finally got to spend some time at the bench after getting back from our big family trip. I'm continuing to work on the Diamond T wrecker. Definitely not an easy kit but for some reason, I'm still enjoying my time working on it.

The front suspension is together. I used some 0.3 mm brass rod to make the steering posable.

The rear bogies are almost done. I've lost track of how many parts there are here but it's a silly number. The bogies pivot for the moment but once the linkages get fitted, it'll be locked in place.

I might use some brass rod and make it posable as well. We'll see.

Here's an overview of the chassis so far.

Looking good👍

I have built many truck models. I like building the frame the most.

I started a new project.

The first dragon kit and the first panther tank.

This time I'm also trying to create a simple camo pattern. Wish me luck😀

Been working on this.....Technically a squirrel, because I had intended to finish another model this weekend, but there

You go.. It's Tamiya's M2A2 ODS. I added resin drive housings. These help cover slots in the hull meant for an apparent

motorized version, although, I've never seen a motorized Tamiya Bradley. I also modified the resin parts to take Friulmodel

sprockets...They're more accurate. The kit sprockets don't have the openings on them. Anyway, some pics...added a Squirrel as well😀

Known as "Handsy" this little creature always pats my finger tips with his paws when I hand feed him. This is the tiny squirrel that

I mentioned in one of my earlier posts.😀

Yes, it's not bad. Tamiya used their earlier Bradley and added new parts. The upper hull is new.....in fact most parts are except the lower hull and wheels This was released in

the early 2000s. Parts fit is excellent😀

"Handsy" the Eastern Gray Squirrel 😀

I remember building the original M2 release with the interior. Don't recall a motorized version either.

The updated ODS one looks nicely detailed.

Same with Handsy.

More work done on the Diamond T.

Rear suspension is done except for the linkages.

PXL_20260119_191623036.thumb.jpg.261fdfd86a94288dfd1317dcc56000d9.jpg

I decided now was a good time to make sure things are square and did a test fit of the wheels. I have the resin ones but they're just copies of the kit wheels with no additional detail so probably not worth the money.

I would like to build a kit that has a detailed chassis like that.  As a kid I used to build the ENTEX kits of the Model

A Ford in 1/16, and their 1/16 Packard ......full chassis on both. I would also study the suspension types of our family cars and

later my own. I'm interested in a couple of Zvezda that show great chassis detail. I would love to get one of the big Tamiya 1/14

RC semi. Well, your doing a great and I'll be following😀

I saw a listing for Tamiya's first release Bradley on EBAY, still sealed, but I went for this version from Amazon because the shipping

Was free. I saw somewhere a very comprehensive.PE Detailing set for the interior for the early releases.

The Thunder Models Scammell Pioneer is a nice kit. The fit is better than this one and it's just as detailed.

Thunder Models also does the Ward La France wrecker I mentioned previously.

The Tamiya 1/14 trucks are impressive too. I saw a built up Heavy Wrecker in Hong Kong and that has some presence.

I've got the Tamiya Bruiser in the stash, my Grail RC kit.

PXL_20210817_160804528-L.jpg

It has a metal ladder chassis, actual leaf springs and a 3 speed transmission.

A little more work done after putting it aside for a day.......

The M2A2 ODS proceeds. Turret needs the range finder, otherwise its mostly complete. I need to add tools and to build

up the tracks. So far? A nice build.

I got some more work done on the Diamond T. The rear suspension is now done with the various linkages and drive shafts installed.

PXL_20260124_152107664.thumb.jpg.25164cefead0e47eb8fc0f9fa576832b.jpg

I've also assembled and installed the transfer case.

PXL_20260124_152058992.thumb.jpg.9ed9bbb6bdc730cc1d972b0f138eb854.jpg

With the linkages in place, the suspension no longer articulates so I made sure to get it as level as possible.

With the temperature outside -25°C, I spent some time at the bench.and got the engine installed. Definitely follow the instructions and don't glue the engine mount crossmember until this step as I had to adjust the location to make it align with the engine.

Trying to figure out how to remove the shifters from the sprue without breaking them. To say the connection points are a bit big might be an understatement.

How did you manage that?

Pure luck. Trying to glue them together, I broke one into three pieces.

The stubby one on the left. Still need to add the last piece once the first two dry. You can see it in front of the cab floor.

I'm guessing razor saw , my lil Libor's one is quite handy for that ?

I used my usual Dispiae nippers. I hadn't thought of a razor saw and there wouldn't have been enough room to get one in between the nubs.

FYI - I cut away the large chunks of sprue off from around the item eg below , and then remove the nubs still attached to  the sprue gate with the razor saw . You don't put the pressure into the sprue and break parts  like is the risk with nippers .

Takom parts .....just saying :)
