I used some 0.3 mm brass rod to make the steering posable. The rear bogies are almost done. I've lost track of how many parts there are here but it's a silly number. The bogies pivot for the moment but once the linkages get fitted, it'll be locked in place. I might use some brass rod and make it posable as well. We'll see. belugawhaleman Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Been working on this.....Technically a squirrel, because I had intended to finish another model this weekend, but there You go.. It's Tamiya's M2A2 ODS. I added resin drive housings. These help cover slots in the hull meant for an apparent motorized version, although, I've never seen a motorized Tamiya Bradley. I also modified the resin parts to take Friulmodel sprockets...They're more accurate. The kit sprockets don't have the openings on them. Anyway, some pics...added a Squirrel as well😀 Known as "Handsy" this little creature always pats my finger tips with his paws when I hand feed him. This is the tiny squirrel that I mentioned in one of my earlier posts.😀 "Handsy" the Eastern Gray Squirrel 😀 5

The upper hull is new.....in fact most parts are except the lower hull and wheels This was released in the early 2000s. Parts fit is excellent😀 1

Don't recall a motorized version either. The updated ODS one looks nicely detailed. Same with Handsy. 2

I decided now was a good time to make sure things are square and did a test fit of the wheels. I have the resin ones but they're just copies of the kit wheels with no additional detail so probably not worth the money. 4

As a kid I used to build the ENTEX kits of the Model A Ford in 1/16, and their 1/16 Packard ......full chassis on both. I would also study the suspension types of our family cars and later my own. I'm interested in a couple of Zvezda that show great chassis detail. I would love to get one of the big Tamiya 1/14 RC semi. Well, your doing a great and I'll be following😀 1

Thunder Models also does the Ward La France wrecker I mentioned previously. The Tamiya 1/14 trucks are impressive too. I saw a built up Heavy Wrecker in Hong Kong and that has some presence. I've got the Tamiya Bruiser in the stash, my Grail RC kit. It has a metal ladder chassis, actual leaf springs and a 3 speed transmission. 5

I've also assembled and installed the transfer case. With the linkages in place, the suspension no longer articulates so I made sure to get it as level as possible. 6

Definitely follow the instructions and don't glue the engine mount crossmember until this step as I had to adjust the location to make it align with the engine. With a test fit of the wheels. 7

The stubby one on the left. Still need to add the last piece once the first two dry. You can see it in front of the cab floor. 6

I hadn't thought of a razor saw and there wouldn't have been enough room to get one in between the nubs. 4

FYI - I cut away the large chunks of sprue off from around the item eg below , and then remove the nubs still attached to the sprue gate with the razor saw . You don't put the pressure into the sprue and break parts like is the risk with nippers . Takom parts .....just saying 3
