Guest DannyVM
Hi everyone, ok, here's my first build report on LSM. After some Britisch stuff i decided to go to the other side and build a German plane (ok seaplane) and after i heard some very nice comments about the Revell Arado Ar 196 i decided to tackle this one. For reference i have the Arado Ar 196 book from Hans-Peter Dabrowski and Volker Koos. I still waiting for a book i ordered from Hannants, and hope to received this week. The aftermarket i use is the Big Ed set and the Master barrels set for the machineguns. Like most airplane builds, whe start from the cockpit, so let's take a look tot the instrumentpanel. Inbox detail is very good, offcourse, it can be better, so i used the colored PE set from Eduard to give some extra detail to the cockpit. Instrument panel before surgery And after some cutting and sanding Controle columm, also here some extra detail is welcome. Some Eduard PE stuff and some copper wiring give's a much better result. Hope you guy's like this. Greetz Danny

Administrators JeroenPeters Posted May 20, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 20, 2013 Great start Danny!! Will you be using the HPH resin replacement canopy? AND I can really recommend the HGW seatbelts. They come with resin seats too. Following this one buddy. Cheers, Jeroen

I'm still have no idea, I have to seriously think about this. Will you be using the HPH resin replacement canopy? AND I can really recommend the HGW seatbelts. They come with resin seats too. I will try first the kit's canopy, iff this work's out fine, i stick to it. Yes the HGW seatbelts are indeed great to see, but i haven't tryed them yet, maybe for my next project. Guest DannyVM
Hi Guy's, i'm back with some more progress. I started this build a couple of weeks ago, so the progress i shown here is from two weeks ago. Ok, time to put some effort in the two fuselage half's. To begin with some Eduard sidewall plate's. And some extra detailing, to begin with some wiring. I started to use lead wire, This is the result Didn't like the result, so retry, this time with copper wire. Much better don't you think guy's....... The amunition spill box, also PE, time to take my soldering iron and have fun with it. Also did the two ammunition hold's, but oohhh boy, there very tiny. Together with some other PE stuff, thing's changed and the cockpit takes shape. Next time i will put some paint to the whole cocpkit aerea. Administrators JeroenPeters Posted February 13, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 13, 2016 FYI Kagero's book has some excellent and offbeat 196's.
