shark64 Posted January 13, 2024 Author Posted January 13, 2024 For some reason I have been fighting painting Toolbox, I am not so sure I like the way it turned out. I am also wondering if my base is not too small..so many questions lately. 7
Kirk Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 Base is beautiful... but yes, it needs to be bigger to do justice to the scene. To my (armchair expert) eyes, anyway. What's your concern with the toolbox? 2
Peterpools Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Oliver Looking mighty good and the scene is wonderfully detailed. I do agree with Kirk that the dio feels cramped and as if all the details are being squeezed together to fit the narrow base, with no breathing room for the eye to wander and explore. 1
shark64 Posted January 14, 2024 Author Posted January 14, 2024 Yep new base for sure. looks like 36x8.5 is needed. 3
Kirk Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 It wouldn't look wrong on 50 x 20 but it might be a challenge to store! 2
Peterpools Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Oliver How much bigger is the new dio base going to be compared to the old one? 1

shark64 Posted January 16, 2024 Author Posted January 16, 2024 Here's the new base, a bit more room. 7
Peterpools Posted January 16, 2024 Posted January 16, 2024 Oliver Good decision for sure - the more real estate, the better. 1
belugawhaleman Posted January 17, 2024 Posted January 17, 2024 Looking great, Oliver! The weathering and detail are top-notch! 1
shark64 Posted January 18, 2024 Author Posted January 18, 2024 Made a wheeled fire extinguisher. Will redo toolbox as well 7
Peterpools Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 Oliver, Awesome and easy to see, you are never satisfied with close to perfection.
shark64 Posted January 22, 2024 Author Posted January 22, 2024 Pete you are so right, not satisfied. here's the new one. different dimensions and added side table. I also change the spray nozzle and the wheels on the extinguisher. 6
Kirk Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 I thought the last toolbox was great. What do I know. The thing that stands out to me most in this last update is how unrealistic the figure looks in comparison with all the scratch-built jewellery. Let's hope Reedoak come up trumps in time for this diorama's completion. 2

dodgem37 Posted January 23, 2024 Posted January 23, 2024 Wonderful work, O B Wan. You are so creative. Could you provide a link to this tool? I would be most appreciative. Thank you. Sincerely, Mark 4
Kirk Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Are these scan- or CAD-based? I'm rapidly coming to the view that the battle between 3D scanned figures and all other techniques is a non-contest. 3

Peterpools Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Oliver The new figures look so good and Kirk assessment of the original figure was correct when compared to your incredible level of work. The bar keeps going up and up and what a ride. 2
shark64 Posted January 27, 2024 Author Posted January 27, 2024 Thanks. i am in the process of building and painting all the extra pieces to set by the engine. Its time consuming but will post once all done. 4
Peterpools Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 Oliver Looking forward to seeing your next with all the 'extra detail parts/pieces done.
