Very very nice Carl, I did some reading up on the JT, these facts maybe erroneous so don’t shoot me :(

  1. Around only 88 JT’s were ever built.
  2. Porsche did a suspension variant
  3. few had zimmerit applied

as Harv said speedy build, great camo...........

Wow, your fast ! I like it......harv:popcorn:

Thanks Harv! A lot of credit has to go to the kit. They've not gone overboard on parts and managed to keep the detail decent.

The camo looks perfect, is it freehand? The borders look overly equal, great job, but you definitely has to to do your German language homework :D.

Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob! Yes, the camo is freehand. I had to do some touchups in a cooler places. Never thought modeling would teach you a different language.

Thanks Phil! The info you found sounds about right. Takom is coming out with the Porsche suspension variant this year. Not having to do zimmerit on this build has certainly speeded things up.

1. The estimate is 70-88, varying by sources used and if you count the prototypes and the last few built after VE day.

2. The first Jagdtiger I built was the Porsche variant. That was the Dragon kit from 1995. No zimmerit on their kits yet so I built mine as chassis 305012, which was the only Porsche without it as the Germans terminated application of that crap with 305011. The Henschels had none applied. Dragon later released a zimmerit version that had Magic Tracks but since Takom and Meng started pumping out big cats I decided to wait to update for a contemporary kit. The fact the Takom is cheaper than the Dragon is a huge plus.

3. Yes, all but the last Porsche and none of the Henschels.

Bonus fact 4. The last Porsche was left overall Dunkelgelb, which made it easy to come up with a camo scheme when I finished assembly.

Almost finished the assembly. I started painting and adding the various tools to the hull.

The biggest challenge was using the moulded tow cable. I tried to clean the cable bits of mould seams and not lose too much of the braided texture as best I could.

I then added the tools to the hull.

All that's left is the anit-air MG on the rear deck for assembly. Then onto stickers and some weathering.

Ok, time to call this one done.

I applied the few decals to the hull. They have a very flat finish OOB but I still have them a clear coat once they were dry.

I then gave the tank a light wash followed by a quick dry brushing using Tamiya weather pastels.

Here she is lined up with some of my other recent completed tanks.

Overall, a very straightforward build OOB. Takom have a StuG III announced in the same series so that may be a future purchase.
