  1. Like there should be a nipple ring hanging from the front. But I sure respect the Argosy. A real hauler
  2. So my Fisher September Fury kit is missing one of the prop blades. Tony mentioned that Sea Furies reengined with Pratt power use a Skyraider prop, so I looked. The Trumpeter prop isn’t even close, and the ZM prop is close, but a touch too short, too wide by a smidge, and has the wrong shaped tip. So I get to somehow attempt my first resin casting job. Question: can a good mold be made from a resin piece? I need an exact copy....
  3. Dale, we’ll take your donations off as well, sir. It’s not really right for someone not participating or even on the forums to be giving stuff away. We’ll certainly miss you, and of course you’re welcome back here at any time, sir. You’re a good guy, Dale. Lord knows I’d have folded under half the stuff you’ve been through. E
  4. Not often have the Germans come up with a whopper, but that one burns my eyes. I’ll never be able to unsee it.
  5. Not much to show. Working on the interior, which will be very visible. This looks crappy I know, but I’ve done nothing but base colors so far. Hopefully this weekend I’ll tone down that green some and give it some life, plus the rest of the details. Lots of resin dust. That stuff is never ending.
  6. I think I’ll stick to my 97 F-250 7.3L diesel. This abomination is a total NO for me. I throw up in my mouth when I look at it. But different strokes for different folks
  7. Agreed there. I truly love this hobby and I’ve had naysayers over this and all my other hobbies as well. It never ends. What’s next? Pink haired picketers in front of hobby shops?
  8. I’ve never really watched model videos on YouTube until Nige’s stuff. His are interesting. But I’ve heard plenty of the stock complaints you also hear at model shows: “you guys glorify war machines”, “naziism”, or whatever -ism they can come up with, then follow it up by labeling us various forms of -ists and -phobes. I’ve long since tuned this stuff out. This hobby is getting way too political for me, and I’m about burned out on political crap, bureaucratic moronism, and do-gooder idiocy. This FTC crap is a prime example of bureaucratic moronism at its absolute best. Right up there with the FAA requiring R/C modelers to now hold a valid airman’s certificate and to register their models. (For a fee, of course). Idiots
  9. Love it, Carl! Nice to see you up and going. This is the kit I use to convince people to just try a WNW kit. Over the last two years, over 30 of these have slid through my fingers, yet I have yet to build one myself. I’m one of those Big Project guys who really ought to step back and take a break. But, gotta finish the B-36 first.
  10. Definitely the Friedrich. Sleek, smooth, nimble, and fast. It was light on firepower, but as a guy who would have been fighting against the 109s, I find that to be an advantage I'll give a shout out to the E.1 as well. That ship was exactly as Willi Messerschmitt envisioned his masterpiece to be. Hubert's version looks good, too. Classy in a Modern Art way. That being said, the 109 is documented as being a tough bird, so I expect those little scratches will buff right out.
  11. Martin, a 9mm MIGHT expand, but a .45 will NEVER shrink. Come on down to Texas where we never have to worry about magazine capacity, because we have belt fed....
  12. Not a chance, Tony. You guys are the best and y'all make this a great place to hang out and discuss modelling
  13. Steve, there is no criteria at all. It does not have to be a kit at all. You can give anything or nothing. You’re not judged. Some folks aren’t in a position to give and that’s ok. The only thing I ask is that if you are going to give, then make it LSM related. Armor or Air, but in our scales. Or books, AM, tools, whatever. It’s your choice. you can enter without giving.
