  1. I'm sure quite a few of you subscribe to this outstanding magazine so you may be familiar with a small article in the FlyPost section in the new (Jan. 2021) issue titled "Feeling frustrated by false footage" by Mr. Richard Lambert. He discusses the use in many films on RAF missions and aircraft of footage that have no relation at all to the subject matter (other than that they are aircraft). Case in point he mentions a scene showing silver USAAF B-18 Bolo's flying over the Hoover dam in a film about 617 Squadron and the dams raid. He lists other glaring foul ups in movies and documentaries. Various "experts" are listed in the credits of these films who really don't know shit from shinola about aviation history and types of aircraft. I agree with him wholeheartedly. If someone is going to produce a film on ANY subject they really need to be sure they hire people who are not illiterate in the subject matter. Nuf said.
  2. I seem to remember seeing a photo of this airplane that shows a full right hand side view and it has markings for the Sangri-La. I'm not sure but I "think" it may have been in this book (which I don't have a copy of unfortunately). If any of you have it take a look and see. Worth a try.
  3. Thank you Jeff! Worthy of the RCAF guys in 418 I hope.
  4. Thank you Carl. I'm glad to have this one completed so now I can consider what is next. Undecided right now. Thanks Gaz! I'm glad you like it. Yes, it can have its "moments" but it makes up unto a nice model. I don't think these photos do it justice.
  5. Finally finished with this one. It's a great kit but can have some "high cuss factor" moments usually due to my own clumsiness, etc. Completely OOB. Upper camo colors are Xtracolor while the undersides and interior are Testors MM. The decals are Aviology (thanks Carl!!!). I hope you like the results of my efforts!
  6. I choose to over look that and just enjoy the flying "action". Very well done I think.
  7. Not much weathering other than exhaust stains.
  8. This will be a beauty for sure. I look forward to seeing it completed!
  9. Kinda grumpy today huh Gaz?
  10. Decaling done and model oversprayed with clear flat. I just need to finish a few odds and ends and it will be DONE!
  11. Not new but outstanding to watch! Outstanding CGI work.
  12. Mo betta now! LOL I used some kill markings from my stash to replace the buggered up ones. I was worried the artwork wouldn't look "right" since the white background of "Moonbeam" was missing. Turned out okay although the kill markings are slightly over size. I can live with that.
  13. I couldn't remember who I got them from Carl so I guess they are the ones you sent me. Please check anyway if it's not a problem. Thanks! John
  14. Trying to put a alternate plan together. If I can't find replacement decals for "Moonbeam McSwine" I guess I'll have to opt out for a re-do and finish it as this 605 Squadron a/c. At least I wouldn't have to repaint the whole damn model.
  15. Help needed!! I managed to screw up part of the "Moonbeam McSwine" decal when I tried to put it on the model. As luck would have it that Aviology sheet is now only available in 1/48 and 1/24 so I can't get a replacement from them. Would any of you guys happen to have this sheet in 1/32? All I would need is the kill markings and the name under the artwork (I haven't applied the art yet). You would be saving my butt if you could send just those little pieces to me so I can complete the model. I would also be willing to buy the entire sheet if that works for you. Thanks in advance!!!
  16. LOL Jeff. I appreciate that! I'll still have to add the rest of the landing gear, props, bomb bay doors and a few other odds and ends after I get the decals on.
