Thanks for all the positives fellow modellers, it is appreciated. I thought I would show you a quick progress of the wheels. The kit wheels are not good so I purchased a set of the Eagle Editions and a set of Eduard Brassin for comparison. The EE look mile ahead of the kit supplied but I went with the Brassin for this build. Brassin are interesting in they give you one set of wheels but two sets of hubs. The first are a one piece affair and the second a two piece. I went with the kit tyres and the two piece Brassin. And here is where we are after a Flory's (ProModeller) dark dirt wash and a coat of rattle can Dullcote: I'll let that set up overnight and then maybe another round of Dullcote and some more subtle weathering. I am at the point now where I have to seriously resist taking the masking off the canopies! Regards, Kent -

Dave, Did you use the kit enclosed sponge or some other form of mysticism? Wet or dry? Thanks, Kent -

Thanks Bevan. The upper wing fuselage wasn't that bad. Some fenagling and Tamiya thin a little at a time. The lower wings and rear fuselage was a nightmare. There was a step a mile wide at the curved area where it moves onto the fuselage sides. I don't think I "nailed" it but I am close. As you can hopefully see it's close. Regards, Kent -

There is a fix list for the E-1 that Thierry Laurent has put together over at LSP. I based some of the fixes here on that list. One is the oleo are 2mm too long, giving a more "gangly" appearance to an already gangly stance. Apparently it is fortunate the MLG leg is the right size because cutting off the oleos and retraction struts allows you to shorten them by 2mm, giving a better sit. It has been quite pleasant and thus far a relatively stress free build but there is the weathering to come next and my nemeses, the exhaust stains. Although from period pictures these appear to be better maintained in 1940 than the later war era 109. Thanks for looking in. Regards, Kent -
Powdered Weathering Pastels (What do you use?)

Ralph, I use the Tamiya sets and they are sort of like applying make-up. It is a dry firm powder. They come with a small applicator with a sponge on one end and a brush on the other. Dab the sponge into the "make-up" and gently brush it over the area. It will leave some of the "powder" behind. You can then use the brush to remove some to reach the desired level. If you moisten the applicator it will leave a heavier deposit that is a bit harder to remove but can be useful. I have had these for a while and used them with reasonable results. I think they may have been surpassed now by the new range of weathering powders and such from MIG and AK. I hope this helps. Kent -
They look good. Are they the MDC decal set? Regards, Kent

Now that is a bit of all-right! Congratulations on a great build and interesting camouflage finish. Regards, Kent -
Oh no! What an absolute shame. What brand of oil paint/turpentine did you use? The application of oil does look a bit thick but otherwise? Can you save it? Regards, Kent

Hi guys it was RLM 82 Light Green and RLM 83 Dark Green that were incorrectly swapped around. I don't think they ever correctly re-branded but I am not sure. I have re coded bottles of mine that I know where incorrect but I don't have any new ones to compare with at the moment. This table here will help with your RLM (and just about any other colours): http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp as well as here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/70597-rlm-luftwaffe-comparison-chart/ I use MM enamels but I have friends that swear by Mr Color.
