  1. Cool, never seen anything like that up here, although saw a B2 near Bamburgh when we were on holiday 2 years ago,

Used to get a lot of activity over us when Leuchars was still RAF as they'd come up the coast then turn up the glens over us. Saw a lot of Tornadoes and Typhoons with the occasional F-15.

  2. Looking forward to seeing how this goes. Never built a car kit but some of these older F1 cars do seem appealing.

My favourite era of F1 as there was actually some racing rather than the processional snooze-fests you get now. Remember Rene Arnoux, Jacques Lafitte, Didier Pironi, etc driving these. Did get silly though when they stuck engines like this in the infamous Group B rally cars - cost poor Henri Toivonen his life.

  3. Wow, didn't expect that. As PanzerWomble said, I thought some of the ships were amazing and way outside of my comfort zone but who knows what kids will like!

I'm happy with the Val if PW has a preference for the Devastator, so let's just go that way.

Thanks again for organising this Ernie and thanks to the kids for the votes.

  4. Hi all

Just thinking about what to do next after the F14. I'm thinking of doing the A-6E TRAM and I've got the Quinta Decals set for that and I was pondering the best process for applying these.

So, question to those who've used them before, do you paint and weather the cockpit then apply the decals OR paint the cockpit, apply the decals and then weather it? And if so, how do the decals stand up to oils for weathering? Do you have to seal with a gloss coat beforehand?

Sorry, lots of questions, but given the coast of the decal sets I'd rather not stuff it up.

  5. The extra few days has made all the difference here. Finally got some time to get this done and into the cabinet. Even got some sunshine to take outside photos, although it doesn't improve my photography skills, or lack thereof...

As everyone says, a lovely kit to build - wonderful engineering and fits like a glove. Always nice to build something 'vanilla' once in a while rather than fighting things to the end.

You ain’t gonna believe this shit….

And I cannot believe no one pointed it out during my build.

My wings are upside down and on the wrong side.
    🤪

Don’t have any idea how to fix this mess now.

Nightmare Scott. If it's any consolation I did the same thing on my 1/48 build for the group build but at least with that one you just slide the wings on over the guide so it was easy to get them off and fix it. As Hubert says that'll be a bit harder on this one.

I am (still) building my Me262 but took a really long break from doing it due to mental health reasons. But i'm getting back to the bench today (yay!).

My question is... What is the colour on the nose section for the putty/primer over the panel lines/rivets? I would have thought it was RLM 02 but the picture looks far too yellow for that.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Alan

Don't know if you've seen it but Matt McDougall (Doog's Models) did a build similar to this a few years back. He did his primer in a lightish grey and you can read his reasoning for this here https://doogsmodels.com/2014/01/27/132-trumpeter-me-262a-2a-part-iii/
