So.... You snuck into his wardrobe and snicked a piece out of a pair of his trousers then !!
nooo.... i woke up in the middle of the night and there he was. Standing next to my bed only wearing a pair of brown knickerbockers.
That's James for you...

Don't take this the wrong way but I love your leather !!
It's not mine!
(It's James'!)

Well. if smooth at all. A smooth criminal i guess!
Here's a small progress pic of some wood and leather work.
Lots of wood in the pit!
And lots of leather too. Looks like James's closet...

You're too slick for me. How do you maintain soft skin with your output?
I don't! I have Zap a Gap on my knuckles. Artist oils under my nails. And X-acto cuts in my finger prints.
Next time i shake your hand I will however check your moisture level, cuticles, calluses, and other wear and tear.
Just so you know...

And here's the finished IP:

Nice start Jeroen! Where do you find the time, cranking out all those models??!
And when-oh-when will you build o model without a ventilator but with a blowtorch....
Hi Erik!
I don't actually. That's why this is going to be a long long term project.
Here's what I just got:
It's a replica WW1 Territorial Force War Medal for Captain Andrew Glover Inglis ASC who transfered from the ASC to the RFC.
It's his plane that I will be making and now resides at Hendon.
Cheers!

Great review guys.
No questions left!
It has been said before but the detail of these WnW kits keeps getting better and better.
I mean, look at the opened up louvres on the engine plating!
I think the next step will be to include the rocker arms and pistons. Just like on the ZM Uhu.
Don't know what that will add, but it's the only thing i can think of.
Cheers,
Jeroen

Calibrate the altimeter, Jeroen - it reads about 50 ft higher than where you are....
Fantastic panel, indeed.
Will be looking forward to the rest of this build.

Hi George,
Thnx! Cees just pointed out to me that the instruments were often positioned in angles in the ww1 IP's.
Just had a look at the WnW site, and he's right!
I positioned all the instrument's as indicated by WnW, but maybe they used the Hendon machine as an example.
Check this out:

I love this plane and what you're doing with it.
I agree on the progress that has been made with WnW kits.
Also noticable with the Junkers J1 kit. The fit, detail and placement of sink marks have greatly approved
Very keen on seeing your WIP.

Hi all!
Having almost finished the Fokker E.III and the fact that I've got a few days off, I decided to crack open the Ninak.
Got all the HGW upgrades available. The IP panel is fantastic. Sand down the plastic bezels. Glue the PE plate one.
Then a wood grain decal, followed by PE circles for the instruments. Then the kits' decals. Followed by PE bezels.
Al it needs not is the compass and the copper switches.
Pretty impressed so far and I've only covered the IP!
Cheers,
Jeroen

She's a beauty Jan! Very subtle. Love it!

Start with a DVII. No rigging.

Just amazing. Love this build and can't wait to see what you'll do to do Hisso.
Bring it on!
(see you at Heiden!)

Looks ready to start up and take off Jeroen!
Doug
I hope not! The runway ends after 40 cm of kitchen sink!
-
Thnx Guys!
Allready said it to James today: work is seriously messing with my bench time!
Still managed to finish the rigging today. All that's left is some more weathering and washes. Also some black inner discs to be sprayed on the wheels.
Cheers,
Jeroen

Oooh! lovely.
But what did I tell you... Where's the half full beer can to show the size?
It should be in every photo

You're at it again! Lovely to see you post some WIP's over here!
Great start....

The easiest and most expensive way is simply getting it from www.ima-usa.com.
2000 dollars.
I'm sure I'll find one for less though... The hunt is on!

Thnx Guys,
Allready thinking about my next build. The DH.9a...
How cool would this be for a base. A ww1 Lewis gun ammo drum...

Well, I can see the can is still half full in your build!
I was amazed at the size of this thing. Lot's of challenges to tackle!
-
Tnx guys,
Was hoping to get her done this weekend, but stuff got in the way.
It's getting there.
In the meanwhile I'm reading in on the DH.9a. Lovely stuff...

That is pretty cool, but who is in the cockpit starting the engine?
Damn... I had not thought of that. The double downtipped ailerons i did notice..

Geeeeeez guys! I've been away two days and utter mayhem breaks out! This really 'walks out of the hand'
I simply sprayed a base of some different shades of light brown Mr Hobby color. Then dotted some artist oils and went berzerk with a flat brush lightly dipped in terpentine.
When it starts to dry I use a harder flat brush to obtain the thin lines and streaks. Then sprayed some very light dark grey to get some stained wood.
Soo.... Who's going to Heiden on Sunday??
