  1. Thanks James for another of your honest reviews! This is what LSM is really good for! Steve S.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly with John B. - really nice to see a variation on a theme!! Well done!
  3. Got my hopes up too soon - it looks very much like they are just re-boxing the Italeri one!! Gosh dang!! And there was me hoping for a TF.104 B, D, F, G or even a DJ - oh well keep on hoping!!
  4. Just been on Tamiya Incs. website and they are showing a future release of a 1/32 scale F.104G/S with pilot figure. Am I to assume this is 'old news' and a possible re-boxing of the 'new' Italeri Starfighter? Wonder what the price will be?
  5. A really great looking model which reflects the time and attention to detail you've poured into it. Well done! Perhaps now you can give the Mini rebuild as much time and attention!!
  6. This is a beautiful subject and I'm sure will be a tremendous kit!
  7. I must say, even as a proud father, this has to be one of the best reviews I've read on LSM for a while. Well done son for a balanced review of what is an honest kit let down by Revells lack of attention to detail. I feel sure it'll build well when we see Jim's magic worked on it! Steve S.
  8. What amazing inner strength you must have! My deepest sympathy for your tragic loss but what a wonderful way 'to bounce back' and benefit others!! I shall most certainly be watching this build. Steve S.
  9. Well done Cees, a really great rendering!
  10. I forgot to ask if anyone has a Trumpeter 1/32nd. F.6 in their stash they want to swap/sell/give away??!! rRegards, Steve S.
  11. Speaking on behalf of Bolton IPMS, I must say that we were delighted to have sponsorship from LSM. To be the first with the HK Meteor sprues and a built example by James H, beautifully displayed I must say, must rank as quite a coup! Thank you LSM and you James! Long may our association last! Steve S. Treasurer, Bolton IPMS.
  12. Thanks for that Eric. I'm still wanting to do a Venezuelan and if I can their '5th. year of flying the SU30' specially marked one. I've managed to track down their colours but of course they have Russian refs!! In the back of my mind I seem to recall a trader in the UK who offers sets of Russian colours - if only I could remember who he was!! Hey ho, who ever said modelling was a relaxing pastime! The Ukrainian birds have very striking schemes and I recall their recent visit to Fairford - even looked stunning in the pouring rain! I wish you well with that project. Regards, Steve S.
  13. Hello all - I seem to be going through an awkward phase right now with my modelling. I've managed to acquire the Aztec Decals sheet 32-003 for the 25th. Anniversary of the Dragones squadron of the Venezuelan AF, and very nice it seems to be! However the colour call out from Aztec is as follows :- Dark Green - FS31092 Pale Green - FS34373 Sand - FS 36642 Lt. Gray - FS37875 I would have thought that they would have used standard USAF SEA scheme colours on top with Light Compass Grey underneath but these numbers do not seem to match up with the FS colour charts I have. Does anyone have any ideas how I can track these colours down and correlate them with Gunze Sanyo paints? Just as an aside I'm also very interested in the FS colours Venezuela have used for their SU30s' so any help there would be appreciated. Regards, Steve S.

  14. Hi Eric - you've certainly pulled out all the stops for me on this one!! So correct if I'm wrong, but essentially, the SU 30 differs from the SU27UB by way of its weaponology and cockpit set up - externally there appears to be little or no difference? Venezuelan decals seem to be as rare as 'rocking horse ****' so I'll have to try and find someone to produce them for me. Thanks again. Steve S.
  15. Hi All - I'm sitting here considering the differences between a SU 27 two seater and a SU 30 as flown by Venezuela. I know Trumpeter offer kits for both but what would one have to do to modify the standard SU 27UB kit into a version as flown by the Venezuelan Air Force? Does anyone offer decals in 32nd scale for a Venezuelan variant? I await your responses. Regards, Steve S.
  16. I must agree with all of the foregoing comments James, a spot on review!! I really enjoy your comprehensive approach to reviews and they truly assist me in making retail purchase decisions! Is it me or is it just a quirk of timing that you've recently reviewed two of the best twin engine medium bombers of WWII?Just like buses, you wait a good while and two come along together!! Best regards, Steve S.
  17. My my, we are cracking on aren't we!! Things are certainly looking good - keep it up! Dad.
  18. 'Mein a lieber Gott' we have a 'Meat Fest' going on!! Builds look good so watching with eager anticipation!
  19. On behalf of all the members of Bolton IPMS I would like to thank LSM for its very kind and generous support at our Show this year. We were able to enjoy Jim H's presence and benefit from what was probably the first public view of both the sprues and a finished example of the new HK Meteor - excellent! We look forward to building on our links with LSM in the future. Best regards, Stephen D. Summerfield Treasurer Bolton IPMS.
  20. Jim - your reviews seem to be going from strength to strength! Nicely in depth showing any potential investor exactly what they'd get for their hard earned pension pittance - I really look forward to your build of one of my favourite twin engine aircraft. Best regards, Steve S.
  21. I agree with all you say Nick, but it's just a tad frustrating when you see a scheme which makes you go 'that's nice' and you can do some of it but, it's like they always say, - 'the devil is in the detail' which you can't build with a mask but requires a decent decal!! In this case it's the Statue of Liberty badge for the 48th.TFW on Col.S.T. Smith's F.100D. I'll just have to 'make do' with 'Triple Zilch' of the 20th TFW. - hey ho, the sacrifices you have to make for this hobby!! Steve S.
  22. Thank you both for your input - looks like I need to find a different scheme!
  23. Here's a show report from this years Bolton show, great attendence this year with plenty of traders and clubs and many bargains to be had! LSM was represented and some if these kits should be more than familiar to you. James Hatch had his wood in display.. LSM had the exclusive on the HK Meteor and not only sprues but a built up example! Polish air museum in 1/72 Built up Airfix lighting
