Beautiful

And way out of my price league (saving for the Lancaster)

BUT if I did get one, it would be the later, heavy armed variants

I really think they have made the wrong variant here

Oh ... I'm up for the Lanc too ... when and if it arrives (hopefully before the second coming!)

Ahhh other variants? ... any useful refs you can patch a link in with Nick?

Google Rog.... use the force...... :)

I too would wait for the B to come out... 50mm cannon, mortars, gun packs...

I still suspect that Revell will have this on their list of 'to dos' and, avert your eyes Rog, it'll probably come before the Do 17, though of course both a/c are at Cosford....

lol Matt :D ...

I use Google plenty ... but why spend 2-3 hours running through a search engine when someone else has already done it and can give shortcuts?? ... for me, sharing information is what forums are all about (that - and the socialising factor!) ... as I am happy to share anything that I uncover to save someone else some time!

I have to admit that, seeing it naked there in the pics, just looking at it - my first guess would have been "Revell" ... it just feels like the sort of thing they'd do!

I've given up hope that Revell will do the Do, lol ... but not the intensely, insane wish that someone will pick up the ball!!!

Nick ...

I was wondering if it would be too much drama ... to chuck in one of these?! :D

Obviously, Grey Matter only sells the barrel ... would the rest of the "gun pack" be seen from looking through the cockpit windows?

Apparently the A-1 was upgunned as well as the latter B variants ... so the rest of the aircraft shouldn't be a problem ... so I'm thinking that appart from the obvious modification to fit the cannon, it will only be an issue of finding the correct markings and some masking??

Dodger,

You can probably get away with only the barrel showing, and some modification of the underside. Gun breech was internal, with the ammunition saddle looped around in a horseshoe pattern. Apart from an exterior bulge on the underside, rectangular slot for the empty shell casings, and the barrel of course, there was no other external signs.

Ahhhh Steve! ... thankyou! ... I have seen the bulge, although to be honest, I wasn't sure of which marque was which - not all Google references are reliable and I am definately not an expert on the 410.

The bulge shouldn't be too difficult ... maybe some un-used oil cooler/water cooler intakes for shape + a bit of flat plastic and some putty to adjust size and fit ...

Weren't the spent shells kept onboard inside the fuslage/gunbay though ... as with the Hs129B-3??

Thanks again!

No, shell was ejected. Also, the 75mm shell casing on the Hs 129 was ejected out of the back of the gun fairing through a bloody great hole.... probably take out a few infantry with one of those....!

Very few aircraft seem to have kept their shell casings, even though you'd have thought that as the war progressed and materials became scarce they'd recover as much as possible..?
