benjaminsummerfield Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Here is my PCM spit XIV, trickier than a Tamiya spit to build but not too bad compared to PCM'S other kits I used Barracuda resin access door, wheels, seat, spares from the Tamiya Mk IX eg gunsight, undercarriage doors, master gun barrels and SAC metal undercarriage as the kit one is too scrawny! Paints are by White Ensign enamels which are superb, i used Maketar masks for the markings except for the JEFF which are AD Astra\ vinyl masks.
Jamme Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Hello Benjamin. Nice to see you here! Nice build on this Spit. I really like the weathering. Cheers, Jamme 1
Wingco57 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Really nice build. How do you achieve the faded look? Pre- or postshading? Cees
Wingco57 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Mine too, in fact all the Griffon engined ones. Cees
mgbgtv8steve Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I must say my son, that you have achieved a terrific finish on what was not an easy build! Terrific! Dad
benjaminsummerfield Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Really nice build. How do you achieve the faded look? Pre- or postshading? Cees Pre shading on the under surfaces with black and post shading on top, I usually just keep adding black to the main colour and then go over it again then tone it down with the original colour. This is also the first time I did the camo free hand.
Andy B Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 Anyone now where I can get this kit, thanks ?
