Here we go again…. The Czech MH models masks for the numerals and codes prove to be uniseful. The inner shapes of the letters P are gone and positioned somewhere else on the vinyl. Looks like an error i sometimes have with my software as well. Anyhow… drew my own (again) and cut my own masks (again). I will not buy MH masks again.

Sprayed the P7111 serial. All masks are cut by myself sofar. MH models did reply to my reaching out. They said the inmer shapes of the letter P was deliberately postioned elsewhere on the masking sheet to prevent shifting of the mask during cutting. I guess that makes sense, but my Cricut has no issues. IMG_1599.jpeg

Here’s the P7111 in close up. Clearly showing the overpainted older camo scheme with three Bellows text spared out.

Yellow leading edges painted and underwing roundels sprayed.
Now i need to source a 1manarmy spitfire or hurricane mask set for the W/T stencils.

Might as well go all out! Only needed the W/T mask for 10 decal replacements. Bought the 1manarmy mask set for the Spit mk1 for that purpose. I used one mask 10x and it’s still perfect!

Started the panel line washes. Can’t wait for some matt finish and pencil weathering…

Somehow the distance between the code and the Bellows Uruguay is way bigger on my model than the reference. At least i fixed the spacing between the two words. I need to get this bird finished or it will end me!

So. A few people noticed the red upper roundel was too far inboard. I couldn’t live with it so i stripped the wing. Resprayed the camo and reapplied the roundel. Pfff.

Let’s weather the heck out of this thing now!

Another thing I was wrestling was this: How would the colour be like UNDER the extended slats? Would the camo pattern stop there? Impossible to find any photographs. The only thing I have to go by is this in game footage of the Warthunder game. You can see the green of the camo stopping there.

I will change this on my model.

I wouldn't trust that game as a reference for a moment.

I understand. But if reference is lacking you have to use common sense. This makes sense.

I concur looks more reasonable than my first thought of a primer of some type.;)

Primer is possible. I guess it depends on how the slats work, powered or gravity.  I always wonder about this. After listening to the Tank Museum chats about the qualitative shortcoming of (some) British tanks seems like they would have done whatever was easiest.
