belugawhaleman
What do you use for Gun metal paint? I liked using Model Master's Metallizer gun metal, but it's no longer available. I would prefer a lacquer...I have a can of Tamiya spray gun metal...but it's not what I'm looking for. I want a dark, dead flat, durable finish like the Metallizer non-buffing product. Any suggestions?
BlrwestSiR
Tamiya Metallic Grey has a flat sheen. It's available in both lacquer and acrylic. Another option is one of the Mr Color Metallizer colours. They have a similiar viscosity as the Model Master paints did and there's a range of colours. 2

I'll have a look at the Mr Color metallics. Do these paints use levelling thinner to thin? I've used the Tamiya metallic grey a lot...also their dark Iron. I like these, but I miss my Metallizer.
BlrwestSiR
Paul, you can use the Leveling thinner on them if needed but I find they're fairly thin. 1
Peterpools
Paul I normally use: Lacquer: Tamiya LP-19 Gun Metal Alclad ALC-120 Gun Metal (air brush only) Acrylic: Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal All three work beautifully for me. 1
Winnie
That new AK Metallic wax paint looks to work nice, and stretches far too. I've seen the brass one used on ship models lately and it turns out very nice. Come in a tube similar to oil paints.
